I might get some hate for this, but I really dislike Protools. just not my cup of tea. unfortunately, more than half the people i work with use it.

And i say the same thing about my Mac worst thing i EVER bought in my life and tried what a piece of rubbish so overrated and overpriced and talking about third party developer they always crash my mac i can NEVER upgrade them since idiotic company Apple make it impossible to upgrade my OS and the third party apps is NEVER backwards compatible i cant really say the same on my PC:s i have had over the years..

But i can probably say this IT IS NEVER THE MACHINE IT IS THE MAN BEHIND THE KEYBOARD so you can work on Mac not a PC i can work on a PC not a MAC..
I almost never had any virus some worms have passed my machine before and i pretty sure your PC:s at home is clean aswell you simply have bought the AV companys warnings uninstall the AV and do a online scan and i am pretty sure it is clean unless they have surfed on porn and very dark places
Oh and b.t.w Mac can get infected aswell and my crashes "well no blue screen but it freezes for hours which in the end means i have to reboot and lost my work in Logic"

My vote goes to Sampletank, specially the new one, 30 Gb for what? Not one decent sound there, and this einklang "synth" it's horrible 100 useless.

Something seriously wrong with your setup if this is true.
Freezes for hours? Why even wait 1 hr?

Also, the autosave in Logic X is very good so you shouldn't be losing any work, maybe the last change if anything.

Cant install Logic X as i have a late 2007 Mac Pro cant even upgrade to Mountain Lion WHY?

I do have the POWER on my machine and why do you say something WRONG with my setup it is perfectly OK!!

Autosave is in every DAW of course it is the last changes i loose that is not what i say i say Macs do crash or freeze you seems to have a different opinion.

It is plugins and third party stuff that freezes my machine just like it is in Win?

Isn´t Mac suppose to be a FULLY working machine with no errors that includes all third party apps??

That is NOT true it happens to many many many many people just read on the mac forums..

Of course i dont wait for hours i shut it down after 5 min or so it was just a matter os speak..

Mac is suppose to be so GOOD as you and all other mac fanboys say it is not it is crap worst BUY ever for that kind of money i fall for that and find out it is exactly the same as a Win machine you have to tweak it to make audio it freezes it has problem with third party apps i got Win machines that have run for over ten years at home and if it crash it is ALWAYS third party apps some plugin not Windows or the DAW.

I could have built 3 decent PC for those money and could upgrade them later on with NEW OS new cpu motherboard memory well everything without a problem you cant do that on a Mac you simply have to buy a new machine every 3 year os so if you want the latest software..

That is why i never ever gonna buy a Mac again if i want Logic i build a Hackintosh for half the money with the same specs..

Oh and b.t.w i can say the same thing for your familys PC:s it must be something wrong with the setups when they have problems

    Windows 9 - 1. April 2015

Corrected it for you. From all I've read about it, it seems like it's going to be another MS "joke" or rather Windows 8.2.

I'm not sweating about Windows at all any more. x86 XP and x64 W7 work fine and stable *for audio work* especially when cut down to size as much as possible ["Lite"]. MS can completely fall apart now as far as I'm concerned. The sooner the better. They've been dominating the desktop computers for too long and it's time for a change because that fact seems to have dumbed down the whole company completely. I think they need a nice shutdown and possibly restart - just like Windows sometimes do, to get a grip. :bleh: There are 17 or more years of audio apps, plugins and samples so if that's not enough for somebody then maybe it's time to try doing something else...? :bleh: Like growing veg? [that's actually on *my* agenda LOL]

    Cheers!

Chill out. Why do you have to make a drama out of every thread that involves Mac?

I've never said they were perfect or had no problems. I even listed itunes as the worst. But storming into a thread with ALL CAPS RAGE calling people fanboys just makes you look immature.

Good luck with your music career!

oh lord... i should have been more specific in the question.
i am on a pc so, i should have specified that. and i was only asking about Audio software principally...
i spent all my learning years ( mainly at uni) on a mac ( luxurious and aesthetically appealing and still the most desirable if graphics is your thing) till now, working on a pc that i put together myself. so i am not a lover or hater of either, it is simple economic necessity.
blah... simple fact is that there is such a paucity of musical and audio apps on the mac it just makes no sense just to jump ship just to use garage band and logic ( on and reason)..

Look at what you have done, asked a sensible and intelligent question and all hell breaks out :wow: Quite shocking, bet you will be more careful next time

anyway, that klingklangklung whatever is total pants and win8.1 is off my shopping list, went back to win7 64bit. After several blue screens of death and windows crashing, I believe the win8 quick shut down mode was the blighter giving me severe grief. And be warned fellow win8 operatives, if your hard drive suddenly throws a wobbly and quick shutdown is enabled you cannot open the hard drive within linux to try and correct any corrupted files. The hard drive is locked :snuffy:

Oh, I haven't used it (honest) but it has to wobbleboss vst? :wow: :wow: :wow: :mates:

If you added a start menu, would you really notice that you were using Windows 8? What don't you like about it?

There's a lot of good in Windows 8. It's streamlined so it runs faster and is less resource instensive. Boot up and shutdown is much faster. The audio stack has been greatly improved. Task Manager is about a zillion times better and more useful. It has better security. Integrated USB 3 support. You can connect devices even if you're not on a network through Miracast. Disk Transfer dialog is way better than Windows 7 both in looks, features, etc. In Windows 7 if you were copying to a directory that had a file of the same name it would create multiple dialog boxes for each file but in Windows 8 it's all in one dialog. Disk transfers are faster and more accurate with the approximate time too. It's super stable, I have never had to do a hard reboot. Broadband tethering. A whole suite of apps that run in the Start Screen some of which are cool. You can mount isos, img and vhd files so no need for a separate app. And that's just off the top of my head.

Like I said, I'd like to read that debate (maybe there is other thread whith the pros and cons I haven't seen yet) because I can't compare those OS like other people like you can. As One Reason wrote is "the UI and general layout on Win 8". Maybe I must upgrade to 8.1 version and add... startbutton? Classic shell?
and delete... preconceptions?... maybe, I don`t know.

By the way, Best Service Engine, a nightmare.

Trust me I understand, it took some time to get acclimated too. I'm not thrilled with the start screen but it comes with some bonuses vs. the traditional start menu and if you really want it you can install a 3rd party start menu and still get the benefits of the new start screen and the apps it offers. I haven't installed a menu and I get along just fine with it (and I'm using 8 not 8.1), not that I don't notice that yes it is slightly more annoying when you want to start an app. Windows 9 will be out soon enough and they're bringing back the menu though it will be different and you will also be able to run Modern UI apps on the desktop. They are thinking of different versions for desktop and touch so that would make it more appealing. It might look something like this:

If you're having trouble dealing with your system now I highly recommend this product from Stardock and it's cheap (only $4.99):

Definitly: Best Service Engine, only reliable in crashing. Ok, the 32bit Version on Win7 64bit, but anyway, I never understood why E. Tarilonte hasn`t made his Lib`s for KONTAKT in the first.

    Hi mr.X,
Welcome to the Forum, I guess you hit the wrong key(s). Did you really have a bad expierence with Spire? I`m fascinated by Sound Design and I get a huge variety of signals out of that thing. But to get it "friable" is quite challenging. :bleh:
