As the title states I'm looking for the most effective ad blocker/s. I have ublock origin and abp, however, since the latest firefox update they are almost useless. Can anyone reccomend me one?

    Thanks.

EDIT: Thanks to everyone who replied...The problem was with firefox as I suspected. If anyone has the same problem it's a case of going to the mozilla site and instead of downloading the program click the link next to it which says something like 'refresh firefox' (this does clear some personal info but gives you a backupfolder to download) Then clear your cookies. After this my ublock origin has been running just as it did before...Thanks again everyone

NoScript https://noscript.net/is great for getting rid of unwanted access to your data, you can block pretty much everything with it in terms of ads etc.
"The NoScript Firefox extension provides extra protection for Firefox, Seamonkey and other mozilla-based browsers: this free, open source add-on allows JavaScript, Java, Flash and other plugins to be executed only by trusted web sites of your choice (e.g. your online bank)."

plus all the other adblockers mentioned- i rarely see any ads and dont get tracking ads etc

It's weird that you find uBlock Origin useless. Maybe you disabled it, or changed some setting?

I use uBlock Origin and NoScript with Firefox 60 ESR. Usually, uBlock Origin is enough to block ads, but NoScript is actually more effective. Unfortunately, it takes a long time to train it and it can still get fooled by some smart script here and there. However, I rarely see any ads anywhere with both enabled. Only when I want to, in support of some website, like AZ.

Click on ublock symbol, then open the dashboard => Filter lists and tick on the lists you want.
You can add your own filters in "My Filters", ex:

    ##.ytp-pause-overlay

    www.youtube.com##.ytp-pause-overlay

Copy and paste both lines and click "Apply Changes", to get rid of youtube showing you more videos when you pause or finish watching the video.

Ublock origin is fantastic you can block a lot of those annoying cookie notice messages with it's element picker, without actually agreeing to use cookies.

Ublock origin. Choose Adguard filters beside original ublock filters in settings.

Upgrade to Ublock, you won't go back.

Adblock I use is "Zenmate Web Firewall". Which is a modified Ublock origin. Works well for me.

You can deactivate ublock for a page only or a site only ( click ublock icon, move mouse over the big on/off button and READ )

UBlock is way better than any others i've tried.

thats were ublock ORIGIN tricks.....best blocker is ublock origin..... not ublock....imho

sites want you turn off ublock origin but they dont kno they want you to turn on ublock origin...sometimes..and rockfile did block it now even if deinstalled , it say turn off blocker but its even : on -off- deactivated...ublock origin users ip get blacklisted cause using trick17 blocker(i guess)_...
ublock origin is to good so bye bye rockfile for me...debit sites are better anyway...or acount-sharing sites
    ---------------------
saint approved it too...ublock origin + ghostery.....and you good to go..... add free surfing......turn off addblocking in ghostery....ublock origin is a very aggressive and fast blocker..
