I solved the deesser problem when i bought the audient id22 interface. A good preamp was the better choice for me.

 

glad u solve it, but if u will need it again, i can recomend SPL like a lot says before, easy to use, and really great to achive deesing without compromising the vocals

 

a simple automated eq do the trick...

 

FabFilter DS is by far and away the best desser. follower by Essence. Take the time to adjust the controls properly and you will be golden. Oh yes, RX5 does a good job with the deplosive plugin, but mic placement and technique is far more effective...

 

problem with de-essers that they can destroy good parts where they shouldnt, but we use them anyway cause we are lazy.
so if i use one i cut that part and apply the processing only there so the rest stay untouched. dynamic eq's work very similar
i found ik's t-racks cs deesser very musical, i use it even at the mastering stage, very transparent
