What is a song you feel has a really "emotional" piano solo in it?

    For me: (trance)

Maybe you know "emotional pianos" in other genres...

I got this. Song was playing during my last breakup. Bring the Kleenex. [IMG]

Also Slowdive is fucking great as always. Every song, every time. Neil Halstead has to be the most underappreciated songwriter of that generation. Not a solo but still.

PS Gewitterregen means thunderstorm for anyone interested.

Yeah I like that one a lot as well. Actually was used as an example in a theory book.

The piano-dominated coda of "Layla" by Derek and the Dominos is a perennial emo meltdown accompaniment.

    Im not surprised !

Such a huge piece from a modern compositor.....

I went in a bunch of random classical recital and concert from new pieces ofmodern compositor.....i dont know what the hell is going on or how it was back in the renaissance days but waow....a decentpiece of work is hard to hear these days.

In fact, i never heard any decent NEW work LIVE.

I really need to go see Philip Glass live asap

I find dubstep to have some of the most memorable piano solos, probably due to the contrast between the high-energy drop and the piano part which acts like a ''calm before the storm''

When I read piano and emotional I thought of this video:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bFKmS_t4qck

Not sure if it is what you mean. But I find that Anneke Van Giersbergen has one of the most beautiful voices ever and Danny Cavanagh (guitarist, keyboardist/pianist/vocals for Anathema) is one of my all time favourite musicians. And this is a beautiful emotional song. It gives me Goosebumps when she starts to sing.

Anyway... that's the input of a metalhead :D

I've always quite liked the piano in the theme tune to trailer park boys :)
