Maybe today not much but back in 2004 this beautiful Piece of Music was performed at the ESC. The Flute is like health to the Soul.

You’re too young for that? Highly suspicious coming from someone who has Joe Camel as their avatar lol.

Stefan Raab is/was one of those guys who can spot the X-factor or whatever. Perfect match with Lena. It was all about building the hype before the actual performance, the song/product was catchy enough ..and there is no business like showbusiness
Later I watched some shows with Lena and she was an entertainer and a cutie. Too bad lately I saw her "fixing" her face, like all the other that fall for this plastic shit..

Warning: some Germans (like our beloved NoA..cough) "have no hiumour..", so there's Lena generalising (jkjkjk dontbanmeyet pleeeezdont banmeyet dooo...)

I think the last time I watched the contest was somewhere in the 90s. Since then I grew up to realise that whoever isn't attracted by football and all this money industry , got to be milked somehow. So we ended up with Eurovision "song" contest. The only good thing this contest did to music is that it made "Te Deum" wide known

Just read some news that in France the Eurovision representative has been ordered NOT to win, because the winning country has to organize the contest for the next year. It costs quite a lot of money, so there are clear instructions to present bad artists so there won't be no further costs.

Also got friends who participated. They finished last. They were placed here by their record company (Warner) because they were not selling enough records and wanted to get rid of them by giving people a bad image because they took part of this shitty contest.

nothing at all, but it's technically impressive, just the sheer amount of audio channels, wireless mics and in-ears, all that fancy visual shit etc...

Whatever you think of Eurovision it has got an interesting history, something that interests/affects audio nerds worldwide.

It was basically created to generate and advertise a unified broadcasting standard, getting radio/tv frequencies sorted, making sure European shows could be played in each country, and so on. European Broadcasting Union (of AES/EBU fame) should be familiar with all of us right?

And no, I don't really care about the contest, not my thing. I've only really watched it completely when I was a) getting wasted on a bottle of spirits, and b) our country had an actually potential entry (we won, yay!), and finally c) the late Terry Wogan was doing the commentary which was ludicrous fun.

When Lordi played (check the previous page for their tune), he said something to the effect of "it's the orcs and Klingons!!" which still cracks me up.

@BlackHaze1986 " Hier kommt die Maus" that was back in the days when showing drugs and alcohol on TV was funny, now it's become a reality and it's not funny anymore :bleh:

Edit: I don't understand why they chose this "Blanka" there is a hundred times better artist in my city.

Producer of this song is a fan of Depeche Mode

Ok, I hate to reanimate a thread about Eurovision but I turned the TV on just now to watch the final. I lasted about 6 seconds, just long enough to convince me how bad this thing is.

At this point I'd pay Germany to stop participating.
