Considering none of it is actual music, not a great deal as far as I'm concerned!

From what I can tell from across the pond, not much. It's a hoot though.

ABSOLUTELY terrible! This is NOT music.
It’s a casino and drag queen style dancers and performers, half naked screaming their guts out for 12 points!
What a shame, millions are glued to the TV to watch this crap. Israel song is the worst!

The Eurovision Song Contest is the greatest thing since the Roman Colessium shut it's doors some time ago in the 6th century. It fills an important void. Time sure flies.

Take the 's' from hits and place it at the beginning of the word!

We older folk are probably biased towards the '60s and '70s. In their later years Milleniums will probaly think The Spice Girls and Take That were the epitome of rock music.

Joking aside, I seem to recall that the years between 1965 and 1975 are objectively the most successful period, when we had the best bands and the best music. These days you can get a number one hit by selling a couple of thousand copies of a song within a very short time frame, which probably explains why most of it (all of it?) is crap.

Lol I thought as much, so why all the media attention around Eurovision? are we being brainwashed to accept Eurovision to be the state of todays music, or is it the nany state feeding the great unwashed bullshit?

I always thought of music as a direct reflection of our times... which explains a lot these days.

It occasionally squeezes out a gem amongst the turds. Estonia very nearly had this song as their official 2013 entry:

What did it for me was when the Shadows entered with Let me be the one, and it was as much of a foregone conclusion they would win as anything but came second.. I was just a kid but I stopped watching it after that.

Your post reminded me how Soviet propaganda branded the novel "Doctor Zhivago":
a certain milkmaid came on stage and read from a piece of paper:
"We, milkmaids, nurses, have not read this novel, but we condemn it"
