true but not the whole story besides that your post brought to my mind that the youth around 90ies and 2010 when shit begun to hit the fan assambly line wise ,did kno to value underground. Today they are (gefuehlt) going to the ZDF Fernsehgarten to hear Shirin David, the only thing missing is the rhythmic clapping...

It's a bigger problem than music not being the same as 40 years ago.

 

To me music died the moment the clergy started accepting polyphonic chanting inside churches. The organum was truly the downfall of music

 

Just another limited view of music, focusing on pop/rock and songs, "mainstream" and radio.
Who cares? Why should I listen to a short-sighted argument limited to instrument skills and perfomance? What about "classical" composers? What about acousmatic music (invented before his loved 60s and 70s), or electronic music that deliberately sounds like machines (eg Autechre)?
This guy spent decades trying to emulate old bands/sounds and now with the magic of the internet (aka "the future", uhhh the old times with letters and fax) he wants to explain why "modern music" sucks, all that without studying and undestanding at least the last 3 decades...........no thanks
