In my opinion, music is the same as it was 30 years ago. Neither better nor worse. Before YouTube and the globalization of individual broadcasts, broadcasts were done through televisions, and the televisions went to famous artists, and other artists whose works were of low quality were not seen. It means that every time you turn on the TV, you would see only quality works in a completely selected form.
But the situation is different now. Everything is mixed together. Quality works are mixed with low-quality works, making choices difficult.
In the past, the number of music broadcasting channels was few, and due to the expensive equipment, they had to go for the quality works of famous artists in order to keep customers. But now everyone claims to be a great artist. These claims have made it impossible to separate quality works from low-quality works and not to recommend quality works to the listeners.

The only thing that has increased is the volume of the music economy, not the quality of the works.
The size of the economy has increased because different people have learned how to make money from music. Quality music works have not grown much, but different music monetization networks have grown. These networks are aware of the need of people's souls for music, and instead of providing them with healthy and quality food, they paint everything and mold it to them instead of prominent music, and because they do this in secret, ordinary people do not know about them.
Not only in music but these monetization networks are everywhere.

we will never agree on this. I find so much good music. Unique, well produced, skillful, etc etc. Just because the amount of music has risen does not mean its all bad. Sure there may be a lot of garbage, but theres equally just as much awesome stuff.

Lots of good progressive rock and metal bands today and also singer songwriters, bluesband, rockband, fusion, jazz, etc.
But what is sad is the pop and all those dance genres that rarely play instruments cant sing in tune and now even use AI as they lack musical talent.

Yeah, the problem isn't that there's no good music, there's tons, in every genre. The problem is that it's marginalised and the average person is happy with garbage. And that's essentially true of everything. Quality is a niche.

fact is back in the day there was only punk/oi which were bedroom produced , if it comes to electronic we were very fast in another sphere production wise ....

and noone here said there is no good new stuff out there ,noone .

i think you did not understand what he meant with
maybe you commented directly on OP's posting , im sorry then.

you come along as personally insulted , wtf ,what does that mean you stand with your name behind every shit tune from nowadays or what .
and yet again we are at statistics .of course there was ultimate shit music back in the day but the curves showing exact opposite ratio .there are many indicators for that .also selling and listening numbers globally speaking clear.
when i look to some de hiphop ,man they made german hitmix (im sure it has similar equivalents in other languages) out of it .and again i dont say i never heard a autotune style effect track which was legit respectable stuff .

Its equal if nowadays or back in the day , assambly lines dont produce real bangers , maybe every 100th track if you lucky .
