Interesting example.. Non fatiguing high end and some really warm midrange, tons of reverb as well :speaker:
Try listening to it in mono and you'll hear how much energy is lost without that extra stereo beef.

(This version sounds better to me in mono and in general, way more punch and detail)

I doubt plugins could replicate this sound 'exactly' (unless we have some one on the forum who was in studio when this was mixed),The vocals definitely went through some awesome analog gear and your video example say's it's been 'digitally remastered ' so it would be hard to pinpoint who did what

Try this video and edit to taste

    Just some thoughts

Double-tracking. 7 big spoons of reverb. Done.

I don't hear double-tracking. I hear a large amount of room and a rather short decay. The reverb share is pretty high. If I were to replicate it, I would use a reverb with a small room size and a decay of half a second or so, while pre-delay set to noticable over 20 ms (maybe 30-60 or so). If you can control diffusion, set it to high values and dampen the reverb tail pretty much. Use a high share of the reverb signal (40%-60%, approx.)
But, as Yoda would say: Sure I'm not!

Listen especially to the lines "little things I should have said and done" and "you were always on my mind (x2)". In the end he also double-track the last verses lines, before the fadeout.
