What can I say? I was an atheist but Billie, the Coronalypse and 3 beer packs made me a true believer.

Hmmm... Same as it ever was, my friend. Means nothing, just hypeing their under-sold product. Making you believe in it. It's just themselves congratulating themselves, and the execs giving the talent a night out! Making them feel special for having their talent abused.
As I said earlier, the industry is not what most people think it is. Perhaps have a read of my comments here.

 

Every now and then I'll plow through twitter just for laughs. - It's amusing watching all of these celebs implode because so many people are now laughing at them, brushing them off and showing them how irrelevant they (and their idiotic opinions) really are.

 

I am a big fan of Billie Eilish. Her music and vocal style may not appeal to everyone but she is very talented and has a beautiful voice.

Yeah her parents are in the industry, but its not like the were very famous. They had bit parts here and there. The father worked as a construction worker, and mom was a teacher. Their connections weren't even enough to get themselves consistent roles. There are plenty of A-listers whose musician children don't make it anywhere.

The term industry plant is stupid. She was already getting a lot of popularity when she was signed. And all her music is written and produced with her and her brother and recorded in the bedroom. No fancy studios, no ghost writers.

It wasn't overnight either, It's been over 4 years since she released Ocean Eyes. I believe she will be around for a long while.


Edit: Do other talented artists/groups get overlooked? Sure, but that doesn't detract from Billie.

Because it's perfectly normal to take pictures like this. I mean we all cover one eye in photos. There's no symbolism here, there's no agenda, there's nothing to see here... move along.

 

Billie... eh, she doesn't suck, she's written one song and recorded it about 15 different ways and people seem to like it. She doesn't totally go overboard on the indie girl singing. The production has some cool things going on. But when you put her next to Imogen Heap, Tori Amos or Kate Bush... well then it's a little embarrassing for her. but by the standards of the day, there's worse.

In this I disagree. If you're a celebrity under 30 it's the usual, and if are under 20 it's almost mandatory. Their photos also look clown/posturing-like to me but they're not for her generation.

Jokes aside, I just watched 3 or 4 YT videos and a couple songs. Though the beer thing was true and I've a slight hangover . Nothing otherworldly but she's quite good. The thing it surprised me the most is that she just made 18 a while ago. That's when she did that erotic moment in her gig.

The reason she hides her body seems to be that she has very big boobs for her age and always suffered "unwanted attention" for it.
