I'm working on a remix for a friend's song.

Well.. cannot really say anything about remix as I have no idea about original.. anyways..
Vocals are partly in different key than the music, so it'll give bit "glued on top" feeling.
And that part starting towards 1.30 is like going from modern trance to 90's techno.. in another words, way out of place. Style change just doesn't fit.

All in all, it's like there are different bit random parts mixed together. They need bit more of work to make it a song.

 

Agree with BlasterM, pick one story and build a track around it, my pick would be the part that starts @1:30, sounds like 2005 or something, but still dig that sound

 

I like the changing style thing, and I dont think that the vocals are very far off pitchwise from the synths... they almost make a chord, one of them just needs to be pitched a little more to make a good harmony between the two... Overall though, the song needs more meat to it, and that's totally the artists fault, unless you only used certain parts... maybe a bit more BG vox as filler
