Things like soundtoys cracked or even free plugins like voxengo recorder. there's something called sheppi I like using and it only comes in 32bit.

I noticed after another session, i ended up using a lot of these and it slowed it down significantly. deleting them restored the session to what it normally performs, which is buttery smooth. I'm in the process of finding many of them a vst3, but even something like portal. only has a .dll version for it's installation.

I am on a windows 11, and after testing multiple times opening the same session with no vst2/dlls the session was much faster.

what do I do to help this?

I don't know what it is that you're asking, but VST3s are DLLs, they just have a different extension.

For 32-bit plugins on 64-bit systems, try using jBridge.

Dynamic Link Library, its neither good or bad, fast or slow.
as always it is the implementation of the DLL - ie how good is the programmer.

you should be looking at your system resources to understand what is going on, you can guess all day
and at the end of the day you still won't know whats going on.

So you're saying your system is way faster with vst3 than with vst2 versions? That's strange, never heard that before.
But if you're talking about 64bit vst3 vs 32bit vst2 well, if you're using a lot of them and the bridges are all running in a separate processes (which jBridge does, IIRC), there could be a noticable difference.

32bit dlls do not slow down or compromise or infect your system. This is a stupid myth shared by stupid people.

Use REAPER as your DAW and you see that 32bit or 64bit doesn't matter. I use in parts 20 years old plugins. No problem.
