i recently many years ago was in Greece and this track i had downloaded from a bro on my usb stick and anyway i found it on youtube , luckily google hasnt mass deleted all stuff from youtube ever since the buyout

anyway the strange thing about the track was that i could listen to it in stereo while listening on pc but for some reason on mobile phone it started to play in mono , only from the left or right earspeaker

the intro 00:00 - 00:08 what kind of bassline drumkit or track's sample is this taken from ? i can't for the life of me reproduce the punch

 

Its a very basic sine wave kick, with very little in the way of pitch envelope or attack. its also mixed very deep into the bass line, its almost lost. It might be hard to reproduce because its almost the opposite of what we do with kick drums...

 

Tap on an SM58. Add low-end exciter. Add lowpass filter (if needed).

Kidding, but not kidding. I think it could be this simple.

The sample is apparently taken from The Three Degrees - If and When (1975)
