    For mixing:

    Soothe (obviously, right?)

STL Tines Control Hub (it's The only channel strip I use. The artist profiles give you all the character I need with minimum hassle, and the limiter is vey effective in keeping spikes in check.)

EZDrummer 3 (The ride cymbal is really realistic)

SSD 5.5 (Sometimes that’s all you need to layer up some smack into a recorded drum kit)

Clear/ex Goyo (Graat ambience removal, voice separation, and deverb with very little CPU consumption)

Softube S73 (Although it’s a great mastering plugin, you get great character on individual tracks with no fuss)

Waves Smack Attack (awesome to remove percussive bleeds, besides the transient shaping)

UAD Massive Passive (Charaterful EQ, great in broad strokes)

UAD Cukture Vulture (Great saturation with lots of tweakability)

Plugin Alliance Vertigo VSM3 (one of the best tools to add character to drums and samples)

Smart:Limiter (no pain, lots of gain limiting)

For Recording (UAD plugins printed to disc):

Neve 88RS, LA2A silver, Culture Vulture, Distressor,
Marshall, Fender, Friedman, Engl, Ampeg amps,

    FabfilterProQ3
    SuperiorDrummer3
    THU
    FabfilterPror2
    Timeless (fabfilter)
    Wavesapi2500
    EzKeys
    FM8
    Compressor native from S1
    Kontakt or UviFalcon

I would believe that these are the top 10 I would use, or my preferences, although it can vary at times. However, I could easily get by with just FabFilter, Superior Drummer, and THU.

    Fabfilter Pro Q3 (EQ)
DUY Z-Room (for intentionally strange metallic reverbs)
    Sonalksis StereoTools (great pan tool)
Pulsar Modular P11 Abyss /or/ ReaComp (compressors)
TAL Drum (I use this to build drum kits if I don't feel like turning on the MPC1000. Either way most of my drums are synth'd and then processed on the computer before they reach hardware again, and TAL has some nice little tricks up its sleeve)
    Camel Phat (distortion for drums)
QFX suite (for building my own FX; the stock effects are great, too, in a 00s era plugin sort of way)
Valhalla Delay (such a great, simple UI that still offers so many options)
kHs Nonlinear Filter /or/ SoundToys FilterFreak (nice grungy filters)
Tone2 Icarus (if I use a software synth I often start with this)

Does this plugin make your mouse pointer randomly disappear? I liked using it to mono everything below certain frequency, but the mouse thing is a deal breaker bug.

Never had this issue with it. I'm on macOS High Sierra running Sonalksis plugs as VST2 in Reaper.

A free alternative is A1Stereo Control. Previously, I used Brainworx bx_control legit version but eventually I stopped paying for the bundle.
Of course an EQ with mono / stereo function like Fabfilter Pro-Q can do the same thing - and in that case offer more flexibility when it comes to the slope of the mono'd hipass filter.
