Hey People, I am wanting to step my game up and you can never have enough sounds. What are your go to Synths or Instruments right now? I don't really care about the genre, because I think you can put anything to work. Also feel free to tell me / us about slept on Synths.

You can also tell me ur favourite kontakt libaries if you want :)

    My !Go-To right now are:

    Omnisphere
    Xpand!2
    Dune 3
    Spire
    Electra
    U-He Diva
    Starlight

i can get by with just kontakt and omnisphere for about 90% of what i do. once in a while i like to throw in some zebra or some other soft synth that has a particular sound that i want.

Do you have any particular library you view as worth checking out?

I know people will groan at this but I don't care. My go-to 'synth' is Nexus. Doesn't mean I end up with all Nexus presets but it always gives me a good starting point, especially it's pads and orchestral sounds and the sequences are great for inspiration. My backups are Avenger and Dune.

As you can guess I only use presets and have never programmed a sound, I simply don't see the point when the experts can do it so much better than I ever could.

You should try Absynth. Forget the cluster-fuck of it's GUI. It is awesomely powerful.

to be honest I mostly use just Equator by ROLI - it works perfect with Seaboard and there's most of what I need,

actually it seems now it can be purchased separately, without Seaboard, so might spread more among producers this year? hmm...

The Snapshot morphing function in Reaktor is great too. All the options can make it intimidating but select two different Snapshots in any Ensemble, map the Snapshot morph to a CC or automate it and you'll find crazy new sounds.

I don't get these type of threads. Because if you need a certain tool, you go and find it. :dunno:
Plus, for anyone who this is their profession, it doesn't really make sense to disclose all your techniques and tools to someone when we are competing for work in the same arena.

I mean its rly just about finding new "Keys" for me and I don't mind sharing stuff. Like of course you are probably never telling ALL of your keys but I learned so far that I can tell almost anything someone wants to know, since no one can do it like me anyway. I learned that by being active in a bunch of producer groups and I just like to share stuff that I learn, but most people still struggle to pull it off anyway. Only share what you are comfortable with sharing, but I appreciate every share!

Acquiring someone's tools has never automatically given someone the same sound. I wouldn't worry.

There are enough professionals that work in the "actual" arena for decent money that show almost anything they use and what they have in a free YouTube video.

It's like saying everyone who uses Serum does sound the same xD

pianoteq stage, omnisphere, legend, modo bass, modo drums, diva, xln add2.

was into kontakt couple years back, not anymore, too large size for the odd strings here&there, taking up 100'sogigs no fun. omnisphere is 57gb, covers everything. no kontakt lib comes close to diva in terms of analoge-ish power. if you dont have omnisphere i highly recommend korg triton, it's 75% in the same ballpark, less editing depth and sounds a bit lofi in comparison, still a win
