    I call my daughter Emma, "Frankie" as one of many nicknames I have been calling her since she was a baby in the hopes that Zappa's creative greatness might somehow be osmosed into her being. Her favorite song when she was a tiny little squirt not taller than my hip was Bobby Brown followed be by Don't Eat the Yellow Snow, so...

    If you never heard the whole album, "It’s A Beautiful Day" by the band It’s A Beautiful Day, it is one of those perfect albums, where each and every song is just killer and the whole transforms into an album that is greater than the sum of its already glorious parts.

    This is a live version of "White Bird", one of the collected jewels from that record. In this rendition they jam out for more than half the song and it's really just the sweetest thing to listen to. Amazing guitar tone, a great band, sweet sweet vocal harmony, soulful emotive drumming while the fiddle faddles like a flowIng fluss beside the grooveness of that gunk 'n gluey bass line that wills us grounded...less we drift up amongst those beautiful clouds while surrendering ourselves to abandon, and bending towards glory, we surrender to..."It's A Beautiful Day".
