I'm talking things like lamps, notepad, couch, incense, coffee flask, etc. Things that make your environment nicer and/or more efficient.

Not things like plugins, hardware, laptop, instruments, etc. I mean stuff you wouldn't find at a music shop.

Interested to hear what's in other people's studios!

Feel free to mention wishlist / dream items

I like being able to ignore & forget everything in the outside world: no phones, no internet browsing, no distractions, no clocks (if possible), etc.

On the main desk next to the Faderport 16, I have a metal coaster for a large ceramic coffee mug my girlfriend made me. I haven't spilled a drip of coffee in well over a decade (knock on wood). Without the ability to make a coffee near by, there would be no point in having a studio in the first place

I also like plants (philodendrons, ferns, monstera, etc). There is a window I can open so they get the light they need during the day. They relax along the wall and smile at me while I play them music :disco:

Pen and paper for notes, don't like multitasking when I'm working on music/sound.

And hear me out, even you're not into randomness a set of dice. It's fun coming up with weird ideas. I use a role-playing dice set, mainly a twelve and eight sided ones (obviously).

-Some kind or combination of room temperature control things (fan, cooler, heater, hvac, etc.)
    -random chairs
-A QUALITY CHAIR for you (can't stress this enough, i fucked up my back recently because of a bad chair and it's annoying AF)
-A small table-like thing for people to leave stuff on but doesn't have audio equipment attached or near it.
-Zip ties, insulating tape, duct tape, coloured masking tape, scissors, box cutter, measuring tape, screwdrivers (at least flat and philips), pliers, aluminum wire....Basically a toolbox.
-A portrait of Shrek for inspiration
-Something that absorbs water, in case of emergency
    -Power strips
-power plug adapters (specailly if you live outside the US)

Also, and this is not really a must, but sometimes people just want to make a quick video for IG or whatever. You might want to have a mobile, dimmable source of light, like a ring light.

It's kinda hard to see in the lighting, and my workstation is a bit scattered right now, but this rose quartz skull is a nice little reminder of the whole memento mori deal, and ultimately, the importance of time and what you decide to spend it on.
It keeps me on-point and focused.
I actually scored it a few years back, off some random guy on the streets who offered it to me if I smoked him out. I just gave him a dub sack and split, since he was a nice guy, but there was no way he was using my pipe.

I got one of those laying around here somewhere, too. I was under the assumption that cats were mandatory for any music zone.

i support this 100%, i have A5 papers laying around, where i write down scales and stuff. it helps me to think and to improvise.

Water, something to eat, color led light for ambience, this often sets the mood for me.

Find it also important to have a window to look outside.
