Yeah, my biggest mistake was unstalling the full waves pack just because i didnt knew what i needed. On the other hand it gives me the oppurtunity to try what i need and want and filter out the ones i want to buy in the future!

on a serious note: how about install plugins/ vst's as you go./ as you need them? we trend to install huge software bundles and only use a couple of them -- really. lol

    Tried DeEdger.
    It is entirely different plugin.
Oeksound Soothe really removes your harsh frequencies without any hassle.
DeEdger is basically a narrow-band Dynamic EQ.

And I still haven't found what I'm looking for.

You could use them all doing a few "Dance Dance Revolution" style moves while playing simultaneously :rofl:

    "we-all-have-too-many-plugins"

The same about DAWs...for example, I have 8(!)
of them on my PC...and this is not off topic!
    Why?
1.Well, I downloaded a free Meldaproduction plugin pack (close to 50 items) and what the f..k, they don't work properly on my
main DAW - Sonar X1, but work on Sonar 4(!?), Reaper, Acoustica Mixcraft and others...
so this is all about plugins...
Next, got Harmor and Spire with a huge preset collection, they both don't work properly on Sonar X1, but work on other DAWs
    2. Now I'm sitting down on a subject of REVERB...
    well, what I do:
I set the same parameters on different reverb plugins (send mode on the same audio track)
and all of them sound different!

So, I'm obligated to take different plugins, to test them and choose
which ones work properly in that or another case

PS. I'm upset about Melda plugins...
because my goal was replace all others with Melda ones!

so they are the same thing just "finer and less work"

then make a preset in meta plug with "dozen" of hofa ieq (goes very fine) or DeEdger (+ possibly a MS mode)
    or
some noise reduction plugins like oxford deesser could work too

line em up, adjust, mix, and build yourself a couple of hours of fun (dont forget to save a preset/patch)

if you need, then buy, its so cheap it pays for itself.
if you are a hobbyist you learn more by not using it

its a win win by my estimation ;)

It’s so true. I like Aturia’s marketing: “Three ‘fx’ you’ll actually use.” They have modeled this to sell 3 filters and 3 compressors, and 3 preamps. I anticipate 3 EQs in the works.

I have been trying to simplify and reduce my plugin count as well. Part of the effort must include committing many old projects to audio. But I aspire to utilize what I have a not acquire more, aside from version upgrades.

+ a DAW with less than 10% of its full capability.

Other tools are unnecessary and disrupt the equilibrium between the mentioned 4 ones.

till there is a moment that you find that eq on your vocals where you can boost the highs,
that make you skip de-essingen MB-compression all together.
