Yeah. Previous versions of this was free and now for version 3 he wants $149.
Even $49 will be little too much but $149 is just unreal expectation.
It is just obscure sample player with few basic effects and bunch of samples.

Adam Szabo Viper cost $89 and it is great synthesizer!

 

it's 145 meg of really bad samples. Maybe some people are starting to gear up early for Apr 1.

 

What? For a bit more I can get Serum. Also doesn't Rave Generator use samples off old Records? Nothing wrong that but charging that much is laughable for what it is.

 

Especially when you put the samples into a regular file folder and then upload the full "installer" to your website. You could say it's a little pricey.

 

Why you say "bad samples"? Those are the iconic beats & pieces of the 90's

if you want to pay for them go ahead. You also could download the original 16 bit sample cds they came from, encode them at 192kbs mp3, upload them to youtube and record them from there so you get the same "iconic" sound.

 

lol my thoughts exactly. They aren't even in the component. 149 is really too much. The volume of the samples is also all over the place

 

anyone know what these 90s cds were called, so i can search for them? would love some classic old rave sounds

 

The free vsts on this page (down at the bottom) are all basically made from samples used in 90s romplers and stuff. They're pretty good, and each in a nice simple interface.

So you basically just download the full installer from official website:
https://www.audioblast.me/downloads/RaveGenerator3/Windows/RaveGenerator3-Installer.zip

Install it and all the samples are in:
"C:\Users\<your user name>\AppData\Local\Audioblast\RaveGenerator3\Samples\RG3 Factory"

That's a great place to find sample CD's, but let me push you down the rabbit hole. You better have a spare drive ready.

Recently I have spent way too much time poking around these CD's finding samples for modern rave tracks. You'll find all the classic stabs and breakbeats spread across many famous CD's and it takes time to find them - these CD's are packed.

But certain series are literally the building blocks for a lot of early 90's UK/Euro rave tracks.

I'd start with the X-Static Goldmine's, Zero G Datamine and Jungle Warfare releases, and the Xtc Files series.

Frankly many of these CD's put modern packs to shame, they are so much more varied and interesting.
