hey guys,
I just got my M1 MacBook and installed Ableton and waves.
everything works fine when I use Ableton with rosetta but when I open Ableton without it all of the waves plugin asking for licenses and works on demo mode.
I tried using the AU reg utility with no success.
even tried to put the reg utility inside /library/audio/plug-ins/components
no success.
when scanning the plugins with the utility it says:

anyone faced the same problem and got a solution?
is there really any difference working with or without rosetta?

Native plugins will always run faster than something translated. (hence the name of Rosetta, like the stone). If you do not have a project which is big enough and with enough plugins in it to notice; it's not that big of a deal. You will possibly benefit from a lower amount of latency being introduced thru the plugin. So there is definitely a reason to prefer running everything natively that you can, but it's not necessarily as big a benefit as some people seem to think it is.

What Waves 14 version did you install? don't include any links.

 

Hi I am dealing with this same issue. My plugins are v14.0.83.84. I'm using M1 Max in Monterey. Waves license isn't recognized if I'm not running Ableton 11 in Rosetta but then Arturia plugins result in GUI error. Turning off Rosetta, Arturia works in Ableton but then back to Waves not recognized.

Any workarounds for Waves plugins?
