after complete uninstall with Waves Central + Easyfind
I try 3 times to install with the same procedure Waves Central refuse to install.
I arrive to 5. instruction line.
I've recover my previous install from my backup
For sure I miss something

 

For Mac? I would suggest Find Any File for removing junk.

Manual cleanup:

2. Manually remove leftover files (if needed)
Even after Waves Central, some files may remain. Look in these locations:

Applications

• /Applications/Waves → delete the folder.
  

Audio Plugins

• /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST/ → delete any Waves VST files
  
  
• /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components/ → delete .component files (for Logic, GarageBand, Pro Tools)
  
  
• /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST3/ → delete .vst3 files
  
  
• ~/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/ → check same subfolders for leftover Waves plugins
  

Application Support / Preferences

• /Library/Application Support/Waves → delete folder
  
  
• ~/Library/Application Support/Waves → delete folder
  
  
• ~/Library/Preferences/ → look for com.waves* plist files and delete
  
  
• ~/Library/Caches/ → delete com.waves* caches
  

Licenses

• /Library/Application Support/Waves/License Center
  
  
• ~/Library/Application Support/Waves → sometimes contains activation data
  
  
• Also, check iLok License Manager if your Waves licenses are on iLok.
  

Misc / Logs

• ~/Library/Logs/Waves → delete logs if present
  
  
• /Library/Logs/Waves → system-wide logs
  

3. Remove Waves MIDI/Key Files (optional)

• If you used Waves Keyboards or controllers, check:
  
  • ~/Library/Audio/MIDI Drivers → remove any Waves* entries
    

4. Clean up Launch Agents / Daemons (if any)

• /Library/LaunchAgents → remove any com.waves.* plist
  
  
• /Library/LaunchDaemons → remove any com.waves.* plist
  

This step is only necessary if you notice background processes from Waves still running.

5. Empty Trash and reboot

• After deleting all folders/files, empty the Trash.
  
  
• Restart your Mac to clear any lingering processes.
  

Notes & Warnings

• Be careful when deleting system folders—don’t delete unrelated files.
  
  
• If you plan to reinstall Waves later, backing up your license files (or ensuring iLok account is active) is smart.
  
  
• Some folders in ~/Library are hidden by default; you can access them via Finder → Go → Go to Folder… → paste the path.

https://www.widebluesound.com/audio-plugin-uninstaller/. This used to be free. You can probably find a copy. I'd most likely pay the 9 bucks if I had to. It is extremely useful.

There is no way I would restore a time machine backup over Waves. If you remove it cleanly, it should be no problem at all.

If you know the version of Waves you have definitely works because you already had it installed, it is either your cleanup missing some things; or because of the install steps you are taking this time.

 

Mine installed very easy. Followed the instructions and no problems. Win 11. Don't know about Mac.
