Waves soundgrid dsp server diy

    Is there a way to create a Waves dsp server?
    The purchase is very expensive, but the components to build it are cheap.

    Yep, just purchase the lowest price server(second-hand is ok) and get the full image of the drive.
    SGS are only intel processor complitable. The firmware can be updated automatically through SoundGrid Studio Software.
    Actually, when you load plugins to StudioRack, it takes more time to load the project. If you rarely use plugins such as Abbey Road Plates, stay Native IMO.

    I recently upgraded my CPU to Intel Core i7, using the reverb provided by UAD(Quad + Octo) and seventh heaven, and now there are no performance issues.

    Really interesting. So could I buy a used server, copy the drive and create a second server with a more powerful cpu?

    Just do it.
    Until now, it has not been known that Waves has set any copy protection for its server image, nor has it been found that it will restrict the server to run on only specific hardwares, only that its kernel has hardware compatibility requirements.
