Wow Waves Jesus man! Does it come with top-down 2D video game included? Stalker: Battle at the heart of Reactor. You could play for a minute or two while it harmonically enhances your shit. Definitely!

Part of me wants to say, good god Waves, this is probably the most gimmicky plugin I've ever seen. It looks like it's targeted at budding teenage producers who don't know what an EQ is yet. Also the concept of a plugin that does all the 'thinking' for me just doesn't sit quite right.

On the other hand, these kinds of plugins could be very useful for people who are not technical-minded and want quick results. Besides, the world of plugins is so saturated I think Waves don't know what to do anymore. So they are basically making stripped-down versions of their processors customized by a famous engineer, offering 'that sound'. As the technology matures I think we'll eventually get pretty damn close. The purist in me says that to get good results, you have to have the technical knowledge, while the utilitarian thinks this is the future of DSP - if it gets you decent results faster than manually, that's great.

That interface really is something though. I'm not sure what to think of it.

It seems like a simpler version of Kush Audio's Clariphonic, mind you. That is one cool plugin. So is the Kush Pusher - which resembles waves pusher in some ways. Coincidence? :p

While I tend to agree with you, my feeling is that this plugin has three knobs too many. Anything with more than one knob confuses me.

Some weeks ago, Infected Mushroom make a useless tool (basically a simple EQ, a M/S gain knob, and an harmonic processor that potentially mess up a mix in a second, adding some 20Hz sub content even with its "magic" knob at a 0 value!!?!!). I was a little sad, but i wasn't a fan of their music in the first place, so I soon overcame it. They surely needed the money...
Now Andrew Scheps...what a shame, i did respect him a lot (and his Scheps 73 EQ is great).
But come on, really? And what with the GUI?
Seems like Waves recently ate a lot of expired (if not infected) mushrooms!

Lol you guys all beat me to it
I was about to make a post questioning Waves new desire to make everything easier and simpler.

My guess is everyone that can afford plugins (commercial and private thriving studios) have already bought everything they need and Waves is trying to break into that fresh new hip market  (can't blame em for trying)

I'll probably try it anyway, can't say no to beefier drums...

Edit: It actually sounds pretty good and could save some cpu:

Maaaaan, Butch Vig's is not only ugly, it's also confusing. It's like playing that game you have to find hidden items in the picture.
Anyway i haven't tried that plugin yet (the schep's one) cause as many said is a combined waves processor in a preset. But when i watched the
intro video i heard much compression on Andrew's voice, almost distorted.I hope the post wasn't made with that plugin and that wasn't harmonic distortion that comes with it

You may not like, but the idea is very good, assimilating colors and movements with sound. If you see his video lessons will realize that he likes it, makes the work becomes faster and easier assimilation. But anyway, it's too ugly, Jesus Christ.

I'm thinking about last Waves releases... It seems Waves follows a new business model: catching the newbies and keep the pros.

A newbie do not want spend time learning how a 1176/A2/1073 can helps (him prefer a fast, faster, fastest tool one knob only).
A pro needs something useful for his studio recorded job (no bullshit).

    So...
    ■ NEWBIE :winker:
    Infected Mushroom Pusher
    Greg Wells PianoCentric
    ■ PROS:chilling:
    BSS DPR-402
    SSL G-Master Buss Compressor

    Do you agree?

So.... they stripped some features out of IM Pusher and re-released it with an uglier UI?

    WHERE'S MY WALLET?!
