    @Leo007

    Waves Audio has 2 - 3 offers per week..... often with a freebie if you buy something you dont really need :yes:

    Two freebies = spend more money on plugs you dont need!!

    Have you even considered doing a deep dive into their update plan and stuff? <----- I´ve been there and a cheap plug can be pretty expensive in the long run.

    Waves Audio has a few really great plugs (mostly their very first releases) and loads of clones to fill up their shop.

    My 50 cents

    I would buy API 560 but I refuse to give Waves any more money UNLESS they port StudioRack to 64 bit. I have dozens of projects which make use of it which I cannot properly open now with V11 plugins. So unless this is happening, not a single fuck is given about Waves at the moment.

    You know, before a sale they also raise prices of the cheaper plugins and then apply their so called discount to make it look cheaper when in reality it's not really a great deal. Buttom line for buying waves plugins:

    1. if it's not in your top 5 goto list – don't buy it and
    2. if if costs more than 29,99 don't buy it!

    I agree with you
    but thats how they run their business, as long as their plugins have demented in market they have lot of room for price speculation.
    I hope we could agree that its equally true for most major companies.

    I really want to buy their plugins but the UPDATE PLAN stops me.

    The only time the WUP is an issue when they jump to a higher version (from V10 to V11) for example. If you are you using Windows it's less of an issue than using a mac since it can run 15 year old programs no problem. But on mac it's a different story. Yo can no longer run V9 Plugins which are 32 bit only on macOS Catalina since it is purely based on a 64 bit codebase alone – no more 32 bit support.

    But I feel the same. They want 240 $ for upgrading all my plugins. It's not like they fix any issues with older plugins for the most part, they just slap a new version number on it and here you go, "upgraded". It's not like plugins get new features like a freaking simple Mix Knob for the CLA Compressors for paralleling or anything… it's ridiculous…
