Just found yesterday that MALWAREBYTES Anti-Malware's most recent versions (1.75.xxx) are seriously degrading audio/audio stream/audio play performances and adding incredibly high DPC Latency to both win 7 and 8 systems (32 and 64 bits).

Even a simple mp3 play with WinAmp was glitchy ...

It was not so degraded with previous version.

So if you are expriencing glitches with realtime audio/video, first keep in mind to completely close this program !

I use for 4 years MSE as Antivirus and Malwarebytes for quickscanning from time to time, but mostly deactivated. And i also use Firefox Noscript-plugin. No problems since then, although i surf on dangerous sites.

well deactivating the java/flash helps when being on dangerous pages, because thats most easiest way to infect the comp. since i turned off my JAVA in may 2011 - i havnt had an infection with something - even my Anti Virus is off the whole time - the same for the Spyware soft.

I can't believe you guys have protections running during music making.

Turn that shit off when you make music.

Since I use Sandboxie I rarely use any anti-virus or -malware.

I open all keygens or suspicious software in a sandbox
so nothing can pass that and harm my PC.

I'm almost a year virus and malware free.

i have an old copy of malwarebytes but it is inactive until i run maintainance

i only have kaspersky internet security AIO set to active, when online.
i keep maint programs in a folder, normally OFF, which only get run once a week.
you should never have scanners running, in real time, while you are doing stuff.

when producing music, go offline and kill all un-needed running process'es
ie: adobe update service, pc health check, windows/mac update service, streamers etc
get there by CTRL+Alt+Del then task manager

I use "clear Web Browser Cache" and windows firewall.

havn't used a protection program for atleast 5 years now , most hassle free years of my life , never been infected. The only time I have been infected with viruses is only when had those types of programs installed , co-incedence ?

their all pretty crap as far as im concerned , i wouldn't use any of them unless you knew for sure that your pc is infected. Even then I would be inclined to do a reformat / re-installation of windows rather then messing around with silly programs that never seem to recover the pc performance back to 100%.

I use nothing. My 2 year old windows is loaded with ancient **** but still boots up within a minute. Actually I do have a firewall in my router but that only prevents network attacks.

Just to let you know Malwarebytes sucks as an active scanner, only use it for its passive scanning capabilities.
