I am Italian and in NY. All I can say is if you call that music and a great melody you are tone deaf and have no talent.
    WAP = What A poop.

Its a song for the club. No one ever is trying to get woke on the dancefloor. Let the art be what it is.

I could be like "damn bach needs to be more ignorant I cant vibe to this" Bach, cardi, and meg all make music but the great thing about music and art, in general, its made by and for the wonderful colorful world we live in!

open your mind up that people think different, love different, and turn up different.

Are you are aware of the demographic that pop music is for? Are you aware that the majoirty of humanity are simpletons? The same people that drink coca cola, eat a chain resturants, and work jobs that are low effort. Most people in society aren't woke. They want that easy to digest world experience.

you are correct when you say "music business" its a business. What do all large companies do to make money? they appeal to the masses. Just because the product is music doesn't make it precious.

You can consume burgers from McDonald's or kimchee tacos from a food truck. Both of them are food and both of them have their purpose. Neither is better or worse in the big picture. It all comes down to taste

Its a chicken or the egg with this. People are products of their environment.

I agree with you that NWA had an outsized influence on modern rap and hip hop, though Public Enemy was probably their contemporary group that had a more of socially focused writing game. To this day Chuck D is still a politically active person with a message. They shone a light on a lot of bad things that were happening to them and all of those things haven't really changed that much between then and now.
Regadleess here are some tunes that I can just think of off the top of my head. I am sure if you go digging you'll find more as I remember more, but I don't really want to invest to much time into this.

I am only responding because of my respect for you, and I think that you would rather know than not know.

Remember that the performers of WAP are doing this specifically to have you condemn them for doing it. They've already prepared their defense, from now all the way to Chuck Berry singing about getting his dingling wet. They know what they are doing is nasty and wrong and if you think songs by 2LIVE, etc... are nasty and wrong and rail about those two they'll agree with you, you are not the intended target of this message and they don't care about how you see it.

Remember that intent matters, this song is intended to make people mad and the purchasing power of young women who are emboldened and empowered about their recent upgrade in public exposure on speaking freely are now shouting across the isle about gender stereotypes. The more you shout back the worse it gets. At some point you just have to trust people are good and not look at everything through the pre programed eyes we all have.

This is a complicated issue that is probably outside the scope of a music forum, so I don't really have anything else to say on the matter. For clarification, I am not a fan of the song. I think the structure is overly simple without being minimalist, sounds like the entire thing was orchestrated on a Yamaha PSR 195. I don't care for the lyrics or the subject matter, but I am not so enraged by its existence that I need to pay any attention to it.

For me, the world has much worse problems, and there is much better music to spend my time on. Though if people want to see this as gender equality protest song, all I can say is 'OK, good for you, I hope it works out for you I personally don't like the way it is done and I have different priorities right now but if we share a common goal lets work on that."

    Best wishes,

I think it's moar complicated and moar simple than that. This is a pop song that is defined by the times we live in. The reason it is art is because it directly dismisses politicians (small-handed vulgarians) as irrelevant. Big ideas matter. White lies matter. But it is (technically) simple, as any impulse is. And I know (and we all here should know) how difficult it is to do cut your ideas down and be direct. Nobody would accuse this song of being longwinded. Nobody would accuse this song of being anything except angry joy and despair and hope for something bigger and better.

falling into the trap changes nothing... knowing that hate speech, phobia pandering, and cultural protectionism are a form is violence is not the same thing. if the tap were dog shit, falling to the trap would be equal to stepping in the dog shit. You don't have to step in dog shit to know you don't want dog shit on your shoes.

If you hate having dog shit in the park, you don't need to step in it to know that it stinks.

If you believe that only Chinese or Muslim dogs shit in the park and are 100% of the problem because someone on facebook told you that they have Chinese Muslim person that lives in their apartment building that takes her dog to park and makes it shit in places where people are more likely to walk just because she hates everyone who is not like her... then you have big problems.

Gyro, be a good person that individually treats other people like you want to be treated. Don't group people together and be consistent on where you stand not always looking for advantages in different sects. Most of all though, is never be a hypocrite. If you can avoid being a hypocrite as much as possible and accept yourself and others for who and what we all are life becomes so much simpler.

Remember that the world also has real monsters in it don't help to create an environment where they can flourish. Have your views and be honest about them, especially with the people you interact with everyday and those you are related to... that how you change things not by ventng on anonymous internet forum.

    Be well.

It's not. What it is, is a VERY VERY BAD something (not a song) for the shittiest clubs.
    @JMOUTTON
I can understand the whole thing was done intentionally and i'm sure they have their lawyers already winded up. I do have better things to do as well, than giving this more time than it deserves and we agree the world has much larger problems realistically.
Thing is, if there are people who think this type of ridiculous one liners gathered together makes 'em feel empowered or whatever similar they need to check their heads. I can't see, no matter how hard i think, how women were silenced before and we needed this to wake 'em up.
I do. It's a lame and quite the clumsy attempt to cash on the world's dissimilarities or inequalities wherever they exist. The fact that you call this atrocity a song is already offending. I mean, for fuck's sake i 've heard your music and it's a million times better than this crap.
You lost me there. Where exactly does it do that please. Cardi B -sadly as many other rappers, thankfully not all- possesses the vocabulary and English phrasing richness of a 12 year old and this perhaps maybe an insult to some smart 12 y.os. Gabagges are more political lol.

[Intro: Cardi B, Al "T" McLaran & Megan Thee Stallion]
    Whores in this house
There's some whores in this house
There's some whores in this house
There's some whores in this house (Hol' up)

I said certified freak, seven days a week
Wet-ass pussy, make that pullout game weak, woo (Ah)

    [Chorus: Cardi B]
    Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
Yeah, you fuckin' with some wet-ass pussy
Bring a bucket and a mop for this wet-ass pussy
Give me everything you got for this wet-ass pussy

[Verse 1: Cardi B & Megan Thee Stallion]
Beat it up, nigga, catch a charge
    Extra large and extra hard
Put this pussy right in your face
Swipe your nose like a credit card
Hop on top, I wanna ride
    I do a kegel while it's inside
Spit in my mouth, look in my eyes
This pussy is wet, come take a dive
Tie me up like I'm surprised
    Let's roleplay, I'll wear a disguise
I want you to park that big Mack truck right in this little garage
Make it cream, make me scream
Out in public, make a scene
    I don't cook, I don't clean
But let me tell you how I got this ring (Ayy, ayy)

    [Verse 2: Megan Thee Stallion]
Gobble me, swallow me, drip down the side of me (Yeah)
Quick, jump out 'fore you let it get inside of me (Yeah)
I tell him where to put it, never tell him where I'm 'bout to be (Huh)
I'll run down on him 'fore I have a nigga runnin' me (Pow, pow, pow)
Talk your shit, bite your lip (Yeah)
Ask for a car while you ride that dick (While you ride that dick)
You really ain't never gotta fuck him for a thang (Yeah)
He already made his mind up 'fore he came (Ayy, ah)
Now get your boots and your coat for this wet-ass pussy (Ah, ah, ah)
He bought a phone just for pictures of this wet-ass pussy (Click, click, click)
Pay my tuition just to kiss me on this wet-ass pussy (Mwah, mwah, mwah)
Now make it rain if you wanna see some wet-ass pussy (Yeah, yeah)

[Verse 3: Cardi B & Megan Thee Stallion]
Look, I need a hard hitter, need a deep stroker
Need a Henny drinker, need a weed smoker
Not a garter snake, I need a king cobra
With a hook in it, hope it lean over
He got some money, then that's where I'm headed
Pussy A1 just like his credit
He got a beard, well, I'm tryna wet it
I let him taste it, now he diabetic
    I don't wanna spit, I wanna gulp
I wanna gag, I wanna choke
I want you to touch that lil' dangly thing that swing in the back of my throat
My head game is fire, punani Dasani
It's goin' in dry and it's comin' out soggy
I ride on that thing like the cops is behind me (Yeah, ah)
I spit on his mic and now he tryna sign me, woo

    [Verse 4: Megan Thee Stallion]
Your honor, I'm a freak bitch, handcuffs, leashes
Switch my wig, make him feel like he cheatin'
Put him on his knees, give him somethin' to believe in
Never lost a fight, but I'm lookin' for a beatin' (Ah)
In the food chain, I'm the one that eat ya
If he ate my ass, he's a bottom-feeder
Big D stand for big demeanor
I could make ya bust before I ever meet ya
If it don't hang, then he can't bang
You can't hurt my feelings, but I like pain
If he fuck me and ask "Whose is it?"
When I ride the dick, I'ma spell my name, ah

    [Chorus: Cardi B]
    Yeah, yeah, yeah
Yeah, you fuckin' with some wet-ass pussy
Bring a bucket and a mop for this wet-ass pussy
Give me everything you got for this wet-ass pussy

Now from the top, make it drop, that's some wet-ass pussy
Now get a bucket and a mop, that's some wet-ass pussy
I'm talkin' wap, wap, wap, that's some wet-ass pussy
Macaroni in a pot, that's some wet-ass pussy, huh

Very political brah. True art. Fkn feminine revolution. Sry miss CardiB.

Why are only misogynists capable of metaphor? Rethink that "House". Rethink "Out in public, make a scene", "on his knees". Et al. Ad infinitum. It's defo, truly, liberatingly a song about something other than the current political obscenity. Fo sho. But it is made by mere women.
Although the diabetic line offends me, it also y'know, Medicaid

Wth are you talking about. Cardi B's interpretation of a metaphor is "i need a king cobra not a garter snake" lol. You dare imply she has the intellect of a thinking person moreover of an artist ? And what, we should stop accusing this because it's a woman's song? I wouldn't care less if she was the first female Pope or whatever. Like my grandma would say, artists took a dump and CardiB came out.
Rethink "on his knees"? You must be kidding, right? Very deep thinking miss. So fucking deep i can hear Cardi's throat gagging with it and that's a metaphor alright...
I mean how on earth this is about women. It's not and it will never be. It's about bullshit songs and this is one of them-period. And please spare me the Latin one liners, i know my Latin well, tell that to Cardi B and see how she responds googling. And because you like Latin so much you should:
"Render unto Caesar the things which are Caesar's", instead of fending for the atrocious attempts to make a hit song of CardiB. So save the feminist talk, this ain't about women or men or whatever. It's about crowd control with shit like this and you will find me on the opposite side with anything like this.
    Peace.

Megan thee Markle meet Donald thee mushroom.

It's transparently not about woman or man. It's about politics. Moar lines: "like the cops is behind me", "spit in my mouth" et al. Like I said. Ad infinitum.

Exactly. From (the video) when you enter the "white house", and find the interior, kerazy, woozy zig-zags? It's all about politics. I always figured you for a chill, liberal dude, @taskforce ? Are you moar into teh Trumpet?

jm and curt you not wrong but you dont see the whole and the development organism

  16. I stated at the outset of this post that I didnt want to get into dissecting it because it is a foreign concept to me. Rap/Hip Hop is not my native language. My issue is not with the song itself. I don't care if she sings about butt plugs, what I find confusing is that it is finding critical acclaim as "art" I haven't been convinced that art has existed in popular song for a very long time. If I'm not convinced Lady Gaga is art, Cardi B isn't going to change my mind. If art has in fact descended to a point where it includes online porn then we have a problem for that is what this song represents to me. It is base.

Doesn't mean we should contribute to keeping them asleep. How do they know what they want?
We did it in the late 80s & early 90s! With instrumental music! :speaker:

I have no idea what that means, but I think a lot less television and radio are not bad things. I commend you on that, though I have no clue what you are trying to say and how it is relevant.

    I agree 100%.
