Correction. You are paying over $500 for the impulse responses and their proprietary format for them so you can't use them in anything else:no:. The app itself is a bog standard convolution engine. It's fleshed out well though

Thanks but I was not asking what I can buy and which is better...
I knew that by myself, for my money what choices do I have...
I am just trialing and not making that money so I can buy one convo reverb for 500 bucks or even more...
And i know for Altiverb, and i don't use it.. Thanks

You can also download it for free from the sister site and test it for free.
For $ 500 I'll buy something to eat and a pair of new shoes ...!

Because Steinberg, who owns the syncrosoft license have decided to change its license system: no more dongle, just an online check from time to time!

ALL the steinberg products are about to move to the new system, though they don't wanna loose the customers who are perfectly OK with the actual dongle, so for a long moment (don't know how long) they will keep both systems working in parallels, so one will have the choice between the two.

BUT here is the problem: Some people think (I dunno what's the truth here, perhaps it's just a f... rumor, or a vague "cloud guess" *, or a divination reading in the bones of a chicken...) ...that the new license system will be weaker than the actual dongle system, and of course no business wanna loose money... So they move to iLok (Perhaps they think that R2R/RET somehow will forget their existence?)

VSL is NOT the only one who seriously think to move elsewhere.

    - - -
    * "Cloud guess": you look at the clouds, and suddenly, when nobody expect it, you declare, with a dead serious tone: "A serious accident will happens today, in our town" ....Guaranteed effect!!! :bleh:

We have no idea how many legit users there exist in the world, compared to 'us', the evil pirates...
For us, r2rs...airs... Crack teams... keygens... etc etc, are terms we all know, because, well, we use them...
But the big majority, not only they know nothing about the Warez scene, but they don't even want to think about it !

Shit, I used to know people who bought... winzip licenses !

I am sure , for each guy who does audio Warez, there are 999 guys who pay for everything they own and use.
If that wasn't the case, steinborg, plugin alliance, uhe, ableton, presonus, etc etc, and many other 'big' companies, they would already have sued, threatened, etc, the owner of audioz, as well as other forums and websites, at the european/world level, 24/7, with a hoard of 300 lawyers, until 1 week, 1 month or 3 months later, the websites were totally shut down and dead.
The reality is... they don't care. At all. They have so many paid customers, compared to the amount of guys who do Warez and use it while making cash with their songs or mix/master jobs, that they don't give a fuck.
Even if 1 guy did Warez and 99 did pay, they would still not care. Their margins are just so gigantic...
Let's say, plugin alliance stuff.. or waves... yes, it took a lot of research, coding, testing... but once it is done, no warehouse, no truck, no store, no employees, no stock, no electricity, no nothing. The items are just sitting on a server, and can be purchased 1, 1000 or 10 million times, for no extra cost !
Another $300. Another $240. Another $190. Another $99..Another $350... over and over and over...

I am sure there are many more people in the world doing stuff related to the music (sing.. play instrument.. mix.. master.. record... lyrics.. etc etc) , then people using photoshop to edit photos. And yet... by 2010, or the 20th anniversary, Adobe said they had over 10 million photoshop users. 2021 ? 15 millions ? 20 millions ?
Shit, if there are over 20 million users on the world using photoshop, how many people are using at least 1 app to record, write, etc, like a daw...? 20 millions? 30 millions ?

RobpPapen Blue 1 vsti had 22'000 hard-coded license numbers. And that is just a 'little' crappy vsti almost nobody knows or is interested in.
So, if blue could sell 22k copies(and by a time when there were much less people making music then today)... then, how many copies did a Diva, Serum or zebra sell ? 100'000 ? 200'000 ? 300'000 ?

So... if a vsti like Diva or Serum can sell 200-300'000 copies... how many people are there who bought a daw like ableton, S1 or FL studio ?
    5 millions ? 10 millions ? 15 millions ?...

Again, we have NO IDEA how absolutely gigantic the audio soft/hard industry is... and how many people are buying 50 to $500 daws/vst/vsti items !

That's why tomorrow, Ret can release the latest waves pack, 20'000 users will 'see' the thread, 2'000 will download it, and 200 will effectively use it 24/7... and Waves won't give a fuck about it ! Why would they care, that 5'000 users are using the Warez version, if they have 200'000 paid users ...

The same with windows... even if there are 10..or even 50 million people using a non legit windows 8 or win 10 copy, they still have over 1 billion legit users...

    The same with Ilok...
There are so many legit users buying audio software, that we, Warez users, is almost like we don't even exist...!

your "numbers" are so far off they distort your point. Your "Adobe" comparison is equally irrelevant, at best. There are far! more commercial paying users of photoshop. Namely, every printing company, advertising agency, corporate graphics departments, etc. Many, if not most; of these "Adobe end-customer" companies operate from brick and mortar buildings. Ones which who fear they may encounter "Serious Visits" from the BSA. ( per seat. or at least used to, prior to Creative Cloud days). So they just pay; it is just a cost of doing business.

obviously developers care about losing sales to piracy, or warez would not exist. No matter what type of protection is used by a product, it costs money. They sometimes back off, but it is only because doing more is a bigger cost than just some lost sales, not because of warm and fuzzy feelings for the warez scene.

It is a convolution reverb and to make it function at its best, some people do not like the 8GB library needed. That said, the pre-delay is its greatest feature. Altiverb is great too but the pre-delay on seventh heaven is better.

    @Hennessey
I don't know the technical details of it, but apparently they missed a few of the gazillion checks so that the reverb itself has strange artifacts in the early reflections of it, or something to that effect, something about a panning effect or a weird movement across the stereo field that's not there in the original. Several people brought it up but it was never fixed. Would have been nice to get a fix because R2R seemed particularly proud of that crack.

That means, we will get VSL stuff for happy new year or even earlier, nice. I always wanted to try the pianos...

Maybe the elicenser is really dying, not only for Steinberg, for the other companies too... Otherwise it doesn't make sense to switch to Ilok, which is still defeated (more or less). Elicenser is still completely uncracked (at least for other companies than Steinberg). Looks like a dumb decision at the first look, but I don't think VSL is as dumb .-.

R2R once stated that the vast majority of samples (such as UVI, EastWset) are encrypted, so legal license is required to decrypt.
I believe VSL would encrypt their samples too...

I just had a look at the VSL site:
If all goes as expected, I may need to buy a new SSD by Christmas...

And secondly it's OT to this thread!
But actually it does have some features Altiverb hasn't.
I just think Altiverb is so known because of how bloomin' old it is, and the great selection of IRs.
Shall we get back on topic?
    Why would you decide that?
    I'm interested.
And then I will explain what you haven't thought of yet!
