Would the "few extra stuff" that might absorb and reflect include any inflatable love dolls?

Mixing out of doors in grass might be an amazing experience with with the only reflections coming from insects and low flying birds and butterflies as they flutter on by.

I can't remember his name though I believe he is in Santa Monica, California, but the back wall of his mixing room has about 12 feet of "sound trap" behind the couch. His wife has a dance studio above his room and so used sand and hears not a toe or tap from above.

 

A my friend. B will bring a ton of unwanted artifacts to the sound you 'll be hearing. A good but not huge nearfield monitor pair may help.
I was recently sort of impressed by the IK iLoud MTM monitors, these use a D'Apollito config and have IK's ARC correction built in. The ARC mic and soft is included in the pack. The combination of monitor+room correction right out of the box is cool and while it will not magically fix all, it will help soothe some of the space's problems.
So, yes the name is stupid, IK Multimedia is not a monitor company either and these small monitors which are also kinda plastic (their enclosure looks like a miniature JBL EON lol) don't come cheap at about 700 euros/pair. But man i would never believe that this monitor can be so detailed and revealing while it also packs a nice punchy sound. A quick pop dance mix i tried translated fine everywhere. Thumbs up for me. I'm looking forward to buy a pair for home or secondary studio suite.

Same here. Treated the corners, whole ceiling is a bass trap, diffusers at the back, absorbers cover the most of the whole front wall. Nice and intimate space where I can do my loud and crazy stuff... I have a thickly isolated singing booth in the left corner made from mattresses that doubles as a huge absorber. You know it's kinda like a room in an asylum. Cause I love to scream...
