If you`re from Europe and if you are planning to treat your room, but hesitated due to the high costs, check this out.

    Woah, thank you @Von_Steyr !

Now I just need to find out where to trap that bass with regard to my room specifications.

You and I have discussed my low end trouble in my mixes.
I was looking at the Auralex ATOM-12 kit. It goes for $549.
Looks like you can build something substantially less expensive with these guys.

We did. Before you go and buy make sure to go trough some documents, i think i gave you a link in the sonarworks thread.
    A more simplified version.

@Von_Steyr, thank you, appreciate the videos. I'll give them a look.
I ran the systemwide calibration for Sonarworks after I got that reference measurement mic. I like what it did, but I don't think it solved the low end problem. L-R clarity is pretty similar now, though. I just have to remember to turn it off when summing.
I'm going to look at REW too. I think I can get some good measurements now to get some idea of where I need to be looking. Also, I can measure after treatment to see what kind of difference it made.
Where's a mobile acoustic treatment lab when you need it?

Did you get a calibration graph of your mic when you bought it?
Just found out a few days ago that dayton audio sells a measurement mic WITH a calibrated (mic)file for download so you can usethat info for the system calibration. If i knew i would have told you before and its only around 50$ in USA.
    Dayton Audio EMM-6

As a last resort, JBL lsr4328p speakaers, they dont make em anymore, but they are amazing flat, accurate speakers and have a DSP EQ calibration and come with a calibration mic.
You just basically measure your room with that mic and the speakers correct the frequency response based on your room and youre done.
They sell for around 600-800$ per pair, they used to be 1500 new. Or you can get the smaller version lsr4326p.
Sell your speakers and get something like this if you really want to be done with it.
A basic room treatment is a must in any scenario though.

These are interesting. They've got a set at Guitar Center for $539.

I've got to do room treatment either way. I'll start there, and later upgrade the monitors if still needed.

Only way I'll get that chance is if my wife gives me the boot! :bash:
We have discussed having a building made for me if you know, cash is ever not an issue...

If someone pulls the trigger on these Mega Acoustic products, I'd like to hear about their experience.

    120x20x20 basstrap sounds useless imo,
I bought 100x40x40 acoustic foam basstraps for about 23€ per piece :)

Hi Thanks for the tip! I`m from Portugal and they ship here.. I`ve been looking to buy some acoustic treatment for my room but good materials are expensive (not that cheap foam from ebay)! This is way more affordable.. Cheers Von_Steyr!!

I have a strong belief that spending money on "bass traps" made of foam is just throwing the money away and buying nothing... I can't see how a foam bass trap can work at low frequencies... Even glasswoll, and rockwoll bass traps have to be really thick to touch the lows.

Better buy a van of glasswoll and rockwoll and start building at least 8 inch bass trap absorbers, that you hang on important spots and on ceiling and big ass, massive corner absorbers (superchunks, or soffit traps)...

Of course its better but also a lot more expensive and a lot of people dont have the tools or the time to build it themselves.
At least these guys have an absorption graph with their products.
Foam does help from 60hz to 2000hz.
Their more expensive resonant bass traps go to 31hz.

Also their pro most expensive ( still cheap) panels are made of thick mineral wool.

Whoa! That's my Christmas shopping sorted. Sod the perfume, candies and saucy underwear. This year, SWMBO is getting a ton of acoustic foam panels for her voiceover work whether she likes it or not.

    Good one, @Von_Steyr
