@SineWave i really do hear what you say and I believe understand it. Thanks for a good explanation but although I may be mistaken I don't think that is what I am referring to.

I am not referring to relative volume levels when mixing or different presets and samples across different libraries. I mean some complete instruments when I load them on their own into Kontakt e.g. the Chamber Strings one I referred to don't have any volume at all. Then when I increase the Kontakt volume and the track volume to maximum I can just begin to start to hear it but even then at a very very low volume.....is that still what you are talking about? is it something I am missing in Kontakt or in my DAW?
