    Hello people.

I don't want to make this too long and boring.

I'm currently mixing an acoustic cover of the song Wherever You Will Go by The Calling. I took as reference tracks the official acoustic version of the song as well as two other covers that I found on YouTube.

Precisely, I'm struggling to achieve these two vocal sounds found on the following videos. It's like a glow around the vocal; during the verse you can feel a really wide and warm performance.

I don't know whether it is a result of a recording technique (I used a pop filter during the recording, maybe that killed it) or a mixing/mastering process. I would gladly welcome any help on this matter.

    Thank you all in advance.

Cover #1 - The effect is very present on this video

add some reverb to your vocal, but not too much

Yeah it sounds like a very subtle wide reverb or a combination of delay/reverb. Use a send and increase the volume by very small increments

Also compression, both these videos have the vocal sitting at a nice level even when they are belting out the chorus. There's no huge peaks.
Get the vocal track sitting nicely with this and automation. Then EQ and add reverb as mentioned.

Izotope Nectar has some nice features and great starting point presets. Give the demo a download and see if they make any difference.
