Since a while that I'm trying to make some vocals chops and experiment with them, but because of the tuning problem, they always they always sound like crap. Any suggestions? I use Logic and Ableton, but I know you can use Kontakt to make them too. The things I'm more interested in are:
1)How you choose the vocals to chop and what part to chop.
2)How you determine the tuning of the chop, and what you do if the chop has multiple notes.

~I'm not interested in pre-made sample packs for Nexus or Kontakt5.

 

Sounds like a job that Melodyne 4 would be well suited for. Load them in there, do what you want to them, export them back to your DAW of choice and glitch or stutter them there, if you want.

After the slicing you can edit (repitch for exemple) each slice separatly.
If you have push the slicing is even easier... ;)
