hold on, the text-to-speech requires a connection to a server somewhere to do the process?... =(
    wat the hell...

    heres from him
there are actually some great TTS engines, i guess he cant embed them without great cost.
obviously google provides TTS freely, openly and in maby the most languages.

I wonder how googles TTS engine works and if there can ever be a personal OFFLINE copy:dunno:

yes Oly, some presets are CPU demanding in SPIRE, especially from Bellatrix Audio .. my system is old i7 MacMini
this VITAL only have few CPU demanding presets, the rests are fine

Not going to say it's the best wavetable synth ever but damn this thing is insane. Plus the basic version is going to be free!!!! I would say support this developer.

I bought the 'Plus early access version'. Link: https://account.vital.audio/inthemix

The synth is really great and pretty easy to use.

The synth comes with standalone, VST2 and VST3 flavors (all 64-bit)

[EDIT: the above VST confirmation relates to my Windows version of Vital. Other formats may be available on the other systems which Vital supports, which include both Mac and Linux.

Vital also works perfectly under Windows 7 64-bit (my system) and for Windows 10]

Note: All factory presets and wavetables require the user to launch the synth (either from Standalone or VST version in your DAW) and then log into their Vital account which initiates the synth to download the wavetable/presets content from the developer's servers. [EDIT: You only need to do this when launching Vital for the first time.]

There are a few early teething bugs (which is to be expected), such as Vital's UI display sometimes misbehaving if/when people's OS or DAW's 'scaling' options are set above 100% setting, etc.

But the developer seems pretty on the ball and he is actively fixing these bugs as and when people report them on Vital's busy Discord community support (link available on Vital's home website).

I honestly doubt anyone who tries this Vital synth would ever say that it's not at least worth the $20 asking price that the Plus version is currently going for.

So, I would recommend anyone that is interested to give it a go. It's unlikely that you will regret it, and I think it will send a great message to talented and fair developers like this, that the audio community will support their hard work when they offer us such great value products (I mean, given the relative prices of the competition, this is surely an absolute steal!)

I read on the Discord that it was still a possibility. I'm not certain if they have confirmed a release date for it yet.

You're right. Even the stock Windows 10 voices sound pretty decent, while years ago were a piece of junk.
I think I get it, whether is fair or not. I think it needs complete control, what and when create TTS sound. So it's not a question of quality but availability and control... I guess?
So no offline wav import, no checking if a TTS is installed and what.

 Sorry. I should have specified that my comment was related to my version of Vital which I installed and is the Windows version, running on my Windows 7 (64-bit) PC.

I have edited my original comment to reflect that other flavors may be available for Mac and Linux systems, which Vital also supports.

Pigments and Vital have the best workflow. By saying best I mean interactive and minimal learning curve. Phaseplant is another great tool but workflow is shitty, I am talking about the effects section.
But, when it comes to the CPU efficiency, Serum is better than Phaseplant, Pigments and Helm. If vital is based on Helm engine, it is also going to utilize more cpu than serum when comparing a similar preset.

:beg:If Dune 3 engine gets GUI of Pigments or Vital....

I purchased this vsti, i gotta say is maybe a bit better than serum but 100% inferior to Phase plant at the moment. limited fXs and only 1 sampler and doesnt even have timestrech, which none of the vsti out there seem to have, they alwais forget to add it... and you alwais get the chipmunk effect.

i made my first preset and i used 3 osc, and the sampler to make the sound extra thick and i needed another sampler to add noise... fail. :D

i gotta say. sounds good tho. it has to be able to have multiple instances of the same effect, not only that, the eq is trash too, very limited and you can only use 1... if i made the same patch on Phase Plant it would sound way more complete.

if you are thinking to buy it, don't. get it for free. is not worth the 20$-17 i paid it, unless they had more soon is not worth it.

Thanks for letting us know what you thought, i myself was turned off by hearing about this weird online TTS he has baked in, which was the only innovation i was seeing and therefore interested in

I dont care for the Vital GUI, aesthetic or even logo.. it looks like some world of warcraft wet dream, and i hate to think of another Los Angeles software developer achieving success:rofl:

Btw, phase plant is on another level (and i think a different league due to its modularity) and pretty cool i love it

All of you guys really crapping on a developer that's offering a "free" version are seriously on something else. The low cost Matt is offering this plug is more than generous and I'm absolutely happy to support a developer this generous.... especially in a time like this where alot of people are struggling.

Also want to add that these are tools, and not all tools are made the same.
