For over a year we have worked on a completely new way of making Virtual Instruments.
Instead of making another Virtual Instrument we have made a Virtual Performer.
This is his first public performance!
We present the Bohemian Violin
The first in our new Soul Capture series.​

VIOLIN PERFORMER OVERVIEW

Our virtual performer is a new look at how to make virtual instruments. Instead of making "just" another virtual violin we have decided to sample the performer and their play styles. Due to the amount of types of samples recorded, we had to develop a virtual performer to handle the articulation and bow selection for you as you play. This allows you to concentrate on playing and being inspired in a similar fashion you would be inspired by working with a real violinist. Virtual Performer will be continuously expanded to offer more and more varied types of performance as we go through the different expansion stages making this one of the kind libraries not seen or heard before. All you need is velocity sensitive keyboard, machine that fits minimum specs and a melody in mind.​

BOW STYLES AND FORCED BEHAVIOURS

To make sure that the violin doesn’t sound static and doesn’t fall to the common traps of other virtual instruments we had to sample a varied versions of bowings and bow styles, to offer enough variety and option to the users. Even the current version one without the expansions already offers 2 types of Arcs each with 2 dynamic layers and 2 unique round robin repetitions per bow type making it a stunning 16 possible bow movements per note on Arcs and Mid Arcs alone. We have also 3 true dynamics on Sustains with 2 to 3 round robins per each bow on each sustain adding further 14 variations on each note with real dynamics to choose from. Of course this doesn’t account for 3 dynamics of Diminuendos going all the way to p- ppp with 2 round robin repetition and of course our spiccatos which have 4 repetitions per bow and per one of the 3 dynamic layers. Library also features our beautiful pizzicato which can be tested and heard in the violin freebie. Each of these articulations can be forced on the engine using a assignable force key giving you the ultimate control over the performer should you choose to adjust his behaviour.





THE FUTURE AND EXPANSIONS

When we began this journey to the performer’s soul we have realized that it can not be done all at once, so we have decided to do things in parts. You can already pre-order the Bohemian Violin now with all the articulations necessary to write emotionally rich melodies or fast bow changed spiccato runs, but we want to go beyond that and sample so much more of the performer. We will be doing expansions for each of our Soul Capture libraries until we are satisfied that 99% of the performer and his sound has been sampled and made available to you in a controllable and intuitive manner, in the same spirit as the current version. To make sure that early adopters benefit from this setup all future expansions are free.

Sample of what we have planned - more bow types, positions (colours of notes), trills, half trills, on bow runs, slurs and portamento as well as the possibility of glissandi and much more. To avoid too many updates we will be launching these expansions quarterly and as already mentioned they will be free to all owners of the current and future versions. Of course as the library expands, so will the price, so later you adopt this amazing new concept, more it will cost, thus enabling us to fund our future and past development. We will also be doing a composer input blogs where you will be able to join in and share your ideas, so we can make sure the performer fits your requirements.
