Im looking for samples from videogames. I have a couple like Mortal Kombat, Street Fighter and Mario stuff.

Any good source to find more samples like these. Vocal/quotes/phrases from games would be excellent, especially Metal Gear Solid *yes*

    Thanks peeps

u want tha real originals? download M1 and BridgeM1.... then a good set of mame roms..... start dumping real-arcade sound-effects..... as for PSX titles, I`m sure there`s an emulator that dumps both music and sound-effectos....

Yeah, MAME and the ROM libraries is the way to go to get EVERYTHING you could possibly want in this field.

But if you just want a few specific games......which ones?

PACMAN is still the best computer game ever. :D

Here's all the sound effects ripped from the first four Silent Hill games. I've used a ton of these! Very useful if you like horror/industrial/dark ambient sounds.

dude take a digg at random games. why just vocals? get the great sound fx and atmospheres as well. i can give you a few titles....

half life 2, portal 2, diablo, etc....

and use Dragon Unpacker to help you, and .ogg extractor to get .ogg out of packs with .ogg in them.

Once you start u can't stop. I have 366 gig of just game audio and guess what came out today..Quake 4!!!

If u want more tips and tools talk to me.

I have hundreds of NES, SNES and Sega .rom files. I googled M1/BridgeM1 but couldnt find a good page, with step-by-step instructions.

Can someone link me to a good site with the app and instructions for ripping sounds from these roms?

Im pretty much only interested in the old-school games, 16-bit or less  but major kudos for the MGS and Silent Hill packs :mates:

EDIT: when ripping from the roms... is it a case of me playing the game and it records all the audio OR does the program scan the game and isolate each sound/song in a folder?

Cheers, the NDS ripper is working perfectly, so simple too

NES and SNES wont work with this though, any link to a program as simple as the NDS one, that will convert the NES/SNES files?
