In the new free release the modules appear to have a different format than the first version.
What happens when I upgrade to version 2? I lose all the free modules i have?
Can i install the free version 2 alongside the free first one?
    I'm on win 10 pro.

I think you lose the favorite list, people complaining about it.

Cardinal is interesting. VST, LU2, and VST3 only. Looks like the VST version is the one that's working, so far using the latest builds from their Github.

this thing was exciting because it was free its main attraction was the huge community of developers that contributed alot -because it was free- now that we know the developer is an asshole that mistreats people and the prodcut is headed towards a more commercial route I dont think there is anything unique about it right now

thanks for posting about cardinal!! yeah too bad about the megalomaniac drama surrounding vcv. reminds me of the same gross display oskari put on with buzz tracker forever ago. anyway veeseevst has actually been quite amazing in abes/reaper these past few years. and now cardinal seems super hot. w devs like aria back in there supporting it, im hoping it can maybe grow to become something even better than vcv2. wishful thinking.

In SHOCKING news that nobody could see coming, even mentioning Cardinal in the VCV Rack forum gets your account suspended

You can't add your own modules to Cardinal -- they have to be open source and submitted to the project for inclusion. The Surge XT modules will keep me on Rack for some time, I suspect.
