That is not the Way how this works at least for Falcon, if it would be like this there already would be an Release of Falcon 2.8.4 and 3

 

You can map everything to any Controller you prefer . But maybe Image-Line does something like the Akai Fire for FL Studio for UVI Falcon in the future who knows.

 

So does anyone know or tried re-saving the library patches to see if they work in legit 3?Im willing to do it if it works.Pm Me if you have legit 3 running so i can send you some files to try.

 

If you're tempted to try your legit V3 version but don't want to miss out on the R2R version, the good news is it works.

UVI also uses new versions of the factory and purchased libs for the V3 version.

1. So before installing V3 you should rename the directory C:\program files\Uvi\Falcon (e.g. C:\Program Files\Uvi\FalconCrk) and place a link to falcon.exe on the desktop or elsewhere.

2. You should also rename the directory where the old libs are stored (e.g. C:\ProgramData\Uvi\Falcon.V2).
3. Install Flcon v3 as VST3 and leave the older VST for the v2 version.
4. After you installed V3 with the library directory under C:\ProgramData\Uvi\Falcon you can switch between the versions by simply renaming the directory name according to the version you want to use.
If you want to use V2, you just need to rename the current Lib folder to ...\UVI\Falcon.V3 and the V2 folder back to ...\UVI\Falcon and vice versa.

For coveniance I put the commands into two .bat files in the path C:\ProgramData\Uvi\ that I linked to the desktop.

Code:

Rename Falcon Falcon.V3
Rename Falcon.V2 Falcon

V3.bat
Rename Falcon Falcon.V2
Rename Falcon.V3 Falcon

If you use different paths you need to change the paths in the .bat file accordingly.


Ofc I hope R2R will bring us a k'd version of Falcon 3 so we don't need to switch. In the meantime it just works for me.

So how does this work? Because i have both but i didnt want to lose all the v2 libraries so ive held off.

 

It is like using Kontakt installed both ways. Your legit Falcon can only open your legit Libraries and your k'd version can only use R2R libraries.

You just have to move your r2r Falcon 2 application file out of the way so the v3 installer does not replace it with the newer Legit one. (or rename it). Just don't let it overwrite. If you do not own any legit Expansions, you will just have access to the new features inside the new version of the actual application. The Falcon Factory library is still version 2.8, but maybe that will change at some point. Legit expansions are buy-one get-one free until Nov.5.

You only need to know how to rename folders and to place links to the desktop in Windows, so it's nice and easy.

 

I"m not 100% sure but I think he Raptor will arrive soon!

Falcon is one of the VERY best synths ever made, it blows Serum, OmniSphere and everything by uhe clean out of the water. It has more features than OmniSphere but more importantly it's FASTER, it's much better programmed than OmniSphere. And (subjectively) the Falcon UI is wayyyyy better - OmniSphere looks like a cheap toy, always has.

Having said all that, I'm on Bitwig and never feel that I lack a feature while sound designing. If you want really complicated sounds you gotta build it yourself in the Grid but that process is both rewarding and educational so it's not a downside for me.

As a product, Falcon is one of the most versatile there is. It's in every project I have made since I bought it. Serum is great but it's digital and clean sounding and is better suited for "annoying sounds". Abrasive stuff. I have seen the news about DMG coding portions of it and that's great; but when I think of DMG plugins I think of clean, transparency more than character sounds. I have not used TrackWarmth at all. Maybe programming nice and warm vintage sounds is no more difficult than super clean ones. idk. The patch creation workflow may be very different, but I think Phaseplant is a good substitute for the same sort of sounds if you want one to use in a track and were about to go loading a Serum instance.

Going as far as to say it sounds better than Omnisphere or Diva, I think you might be deliberately pushing your luck there. You might want to expect some incoming recommendations about your monitors or your DAW. Or buying it.

Since i'm using the Fire my workflow is way better and Image-Line did a great job with Akai it might look like a Drum Pattern focused Controller but you can do so much more with it. Maybe someone should write a request in the UVI Forum to push the Dev's in the right Direction

Doesn't this mean any of the new(er) soundbanks could be released
like, from a sonicbass and such, or do they work differently?

 

in my current timeline they released ilok stuff a couple of days ago...

 

How should this work with legit V3? if it was already not possible with legit V2 to load Libz from Sis Site.
