UTTER NOOB ALERT! Does x86 x64 VSTi AAX RTAS mean Win VSTI?

    Yes yes yes - an utter noob question, flame away I don't mind at all.

    When looking around say on the sister site and you see in the description x86 x64 VSTi AAX RTAS I just
    want to clarify, does this mean 32bit & 64 Bit included AND does the VSTi mean that the windows versions of what ever it maybe are included as well as the AAX & RTAS versions?

    If I dont ask then I will never learn?

    x86 = 32 bit Plugin
    x64 = 64 Bit Plugin
    VST = Virtual Studio Technology (FX)
    VSTI = Virtual Studio Technology Instrument (Instruments)
    AAX & RTAS = Pro Tools Only

    Yes.

    It means it includes these plugin formats. So to be sure you should look at the category which specifies "Windows", "Mac" or both.

    As far as I know only the "AU" plugin format is only for Mac. The others can be for Mac or Windows or both.
