    Hi
After windows 10's support ended, do you use Windows Update anymore?

Does e.g. Window Defender download new updates about viruses, etc?

    PS
Maybe MS will try to make win10 users switch to win11 by mistakenly clicking some update button... haha

Microsoft will continue to give security update on windows 10, there is still too much computers running with this version. But no more update for new functionalities or non-security bug correction. It's a legit obligation in many countries like in EU.

Defender will still be updated too.

And yes, Microsoft will harass you to upgrade to Win 11 by all ways they can, it's in MS DNA.

I don't get harassed by Microsft because all their (and all other nastiness sites too) are blocked in hosts file, firewall and router.

Also, I only work on snapshots on this pc which means if by any chance it WAS to pick up something nasty, a simple reboot would restore me by deleting that snapshot and creating a new one.

I turned off updates years ago and I've been fine. MS 'security' updates are more likely to break your pc than malware at this point, and I have no idea why people are so desperate for them.

It's a bit sad but quite some people we don't update Windows 10. Sometimes if I know the update can be trusted.
Also, since using Windows 10 I have the firewall in whitelist mode most of the time.
    I use a 3rd party antivirus.

I'd recommend to stay on 10 for the moment, with or without updates. Unless you've a very powerful reason, for instance recent Intel CPUs need Windows 11 to run properly.
Do you mean system partition backups, my friend?

Just stay with windows 10 if it serves you. Theres versions you can get that are lean, you can take a bloated version and strip it down so it's as lean as you like.. you cannot though expect future audio releases to work with windows 10 going forward. But if you have a system that has all the software you need to make your art, and it runs on windows 10 then think about closing that installation of windows 10 off from any future updates or anything that could alter the stability you have right now.

If this is the case, that you have a stable and productive windows 10 system, then keep it. Use it. Or not. It's all doable and up to you.

Hey Buddy. It's not quite the same. Whereas the System partition houses the boot files etc. My system works on a virtualisation setup.
So When I switch on, I am only working ever on a snapshot. When I turn my computer off, that snapshot goes along with anything else I may have been working on. Then When I switch back on a new virtualisation snapshot is created. I can come out of this setup and make changes, but unless I do. Nothing is altered.
