Not sure if it was mentioned here but you should record your audio on a separate drive than what your DAW/programs you are on.

I used to run 1TB SSDs for libraries, but went in favour of a regular HDD RAID array. Not much point in keeping Kontakt Libraries and other samples on SSDS. System drive and scratch disks use Sandisk Extreme PRO 480Gb drives. Recently added a Samsung M.2 850 EVO to the mobo as well.

Can't say you need a premium SSD for audio work. Most budget SSDs would do the job fine.

It´s a ok choice (have one myself) but it depends on how much you´ll have to pay for it!

I've just bought the exact same model 1 week ago. I moved in it my OSX partition and the difference between the SSD and HDD when it comes to boot or load instruments it's huge. Benched with Blackmagic it scored 500+ MB/s for Write and around 480 MB/s for Read.
Trim was already enable in my case.

Well, what are you suggesting? If I am able to spend more it would be preferable to choose another SSD?

Nope! The choice is good, I was just talking about the price! Where I live you can get that SSD for about 135 EUR, and I think thats a fair price!

That's true, price is an importan factor. I got my Samsung 850 EVO 250 GB for about 75€ (70$) wich for me is a good price coming from an old and slow HDD

Where the hell did you find them for so cheap? I'm in Germany at the moment and they are 130 euro on amazon!

EDIT: Oh, it's cause I'm looking at the EVO PRO, is there much of a difference?

Well i'm not sure how much difference between EVO and EVO PRO

however there is a video comparison that you can check out, make sure that "PRO" isn't just a marketing thing before buying it.

A short view of that video says (afaics) there´s nearly no difference between those two HDDs, so I´d go for the cheaper one!

well, if y'all are running the unpro ones with no complaints than I'll go for it as well! No need to spend extra cash for overkill or a 1% difference.

sometimes the "pro" version scored worser than the normal one. So i guess it's a marketing thing.

I serious thinking of swapping my internal HDD to a SSHD hybrid disc like this one http://www.seagate.com/gb/en/intern...tate-hybrid/desktop-solid-state-hybrid-drive/

Does anyone here tried a SSHD?
As i cant afford a SSD right now that can store TB or more i also wait for the time when i can afford a Pcie SSD like this one http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/solid-state-drives/solid-state-drives-dc-p3608-series.html
That would really be something for OS Daw and plugins

I was told few time not to use SSD for storage purpose, so i didn't need to buy a 1 TB SSD since i've already a 1 TB HD. Don't know how much this could be related to the SSHD. You should dig a little more about.
