Hey everyone! I know this forum is mostly for music production professionals but I'm learning film post production and I'm wondering if anyone here has any experience doing ADR (Automated Dialogue Replacement) with pirated plugins. There are a number of plugins that COULD be helpful for lining up ADR, namely Waves Sync VX, Vocalign 6 and Serato Pitch n Time.

Problem is, none of these have a pirated release that work with a fully licensed version of pro tools. Are there any other plugins that could be helpful?

Also I do know about the r2r version of pro tools that unlocks pirated plugins but that version doesn't have video which is a total killer for me. Is there a workaround for the lack of video in that version?

    Thanks!

"It is not piracy, it is alternative solution". I'm not sure about your specific use case, but Protools will not load any modified AAX plugins. Bluecat Audio's Patchwork is a wrapper plugin, and it is not as particular about who it is friends with.

Another option might be doing some "offline processing" in another more cooperative DAW like Cubase, Reaper, or even Sequoia.

I don't think this does what I'm looking for. What I need is something that aligns transients and matches the pitch between the production audio and the adr recording.

Yes!!! Patchwork is GREAT and I did manage to get a VST of Vocalign going there BUT it uses sidechain and I wasn't really able to get that working on pro tools. Any experience with that (using sidechain on patchwork on pro tools) specifically?

Adobe Audition offers several tools for manipulating pitch and time: The "Auto Pitch Correction" effect is available in both the Waveform and Multitrack Editors and allows for precise adjustments. The "Manual Pitch Correction" effect in the Waveform Editor lets you specifically change the pitch of individual audio sections.

The best All in one tool for ADR is Nuendo, but I know, learning a new DAW can be a pain.
On Pro Tools, check the stuff from Sounds in Sync. Don't know if they work with legit PT.

Old PT 12 Audiotopia works with video out of the box. Newer PT R2R should work with LTC Midi Reader, but it'll be more cumbersome than other DAWs with video function - I guess your source video needs to have TC to work (so ProRes or DNxHD codec):
    https://www.videotoolshed.com/handcrafted-timecode-tools/ltc-midi-readerconverter/ ($70,- demo available).
