how are you interfacing your audio in/audio out from the chroma and to the chroma. You need to send either the channel you are trying to effect, or the master into the chroma, and then receive the output from the chroma audio out back into a channel or the master.

The midi channels are simply for clock and control of certain effects, they are not for sending signals (midi tracks) to for having them effected by the channels.

I can't seem to see the video in the dropbox link, it just gives me a blank page, might be my internet connection.

have you used external fx sends in FL before? are you using chroma box with a guitar or with a keyboard or different instrument? there are signal differences between guitars and keyboards etc.

Okay first of all let's talk about TotalMix, in case you're confused by the faders, but i don't think this is the ptoblem:
The GREEN section (hardware outputs) are exactly as it says, it's the level of the physical output, for example the fader AN 1/2 is the same as moving the big knob on the interface when output CH 1/2 is selected on the interface, it actually mirrors it.

The RED section is the level of the direct input (pre DAW) that goes to the SELECTED GREEN channel (that's why by default they are all down), it's a monitoring thing.

BLUE is what you're going to see in your DAW as outputs, which are not directly "connected" to the actual phisical output (meaning AN 1/2 in the DAW, is not fixed to the actual outputs 1 and 2 of the interface). It follows the same logic as the RED section, the faders on the BLUE section reflect how much of each of the BLUE channels is going to the SELECTED GREEN channel. That's why by default only the BLUE channel of the same name as the SELECTED GREEN channel is up, it's connecting the output you see on the DAW to the actual physical output of the same name.

Now, in your video you can see that there is something coming out of the ADAT output (green) from totalmix, so even if the DAW routing is wrong, something is going out through ADAT anyway, but the EXP doesn't seem to know that (according to the EXP meters). And that's before the pedal, so i think you can rule that out for now.

I'd start by taking a look at the Fireface settings app (should be somewhere in the bottom right of the desktop). There's an option there to select wether the optical output is SPDIF or ADAT. It should say ADAT, obviously. Then take a look at the EXP, it seems it's working with it's internal clock. If that's the case you should set your interface to have "Optical In" as clock source. If you want it the other way around then the interface clock should be set to "internal" and the EXP clock source should be ADAT.

If all that's fine, check if the ADAT cables are loose, then try the ol' "turn it off and on again" on the EXP. THat's all i can think of right now

Yes, it's probably just a matter of setting up TotalMix ins/outs properly. Check it out.
