Using Bax Music & DV27 as a UK buyer

Discussion in 'Lounge' started by Vincent Price, Feb 12, 2024.

  1. Hello,

I would like to know, as someone in the UK, would there be any import or customs on stuff I order from Bax music & DV247?

I know before Brexit there was, however in recent years when I have ordered from Thomann, there has been no import or customs paid as they sorted it at their end

    Thanks

both companys list there prices including vat.
so they are collecting vat on behalf of the goverment and thus the importing is done on there part.
but note dv247 for example is not a authorised dealer in the uk for RME for example and there for you will not get there 5 year warranty. plus you will have to deal with germany for warranty repairs and shipping costs whould be on you.

so depending on what you buy you may want to look into how the warranty may be delt with.

Don't DV247 have a warehouse in Romford, UK and send things from there still? In which case it's be UK-to-UK, in terms of import or customs taxes, warrant, support etc.

synthax is the uk distrobutor and the state here https://www.synthax.co.uk/latest/dealers/

Our network of authorised UK dealers and retailers keep regular stock of all of the most popular products from RME, Ferrofish, Lauten Audio, Tierra Audio and Dynaudio PRO Studio Monitors.

If you want to guarantee the simplest returns policy and to qualify for UK support – not to mention receive a free 5 year warranty on all RME devices* – make sure you always purchase from one of our approved dealers listed below.

*Please note: this is a UK initiative that is exclusive to UK Dealers. Thomann, DV247 and Bax are not included in this deal.

They used to be great when they were Digital Village, but I wouldn't touch DV247 with a bargepole now. Non-existent customer service, and a massive ball-ache if you want to return anything.

Bax is ok if the item is in stock. Do not trust their anticipated delivery dates: "Order now and receive delivery within approx. 3 weeks".

Better off using SX Pro, Funky-Junk, Studiocare or KMR.
