I currently have no problem using Akai MPD218 with all cracked NI eco-system.

Now, I am considering purchasing a used Maschine MK3 or Mikro pad and the question is, is it going to work as drop-in replacement for MPD218? I heard Maschine software comes with the purchase of a pad if license is also transferred but I don't want to cause new problems with mixing up legit and cracked software when everything is working fine now.

It seems my current Maschine SW version is 2.16.

    Anyone with experience?

I've purchased a second hand MK3 and the seller did a license transfer with NI.
Worth asking for sure - this would be the best option if you don't want to mix legit and cracked sw.

I bought a used MK3 from Guitar Center and no license, so yep I had to go the crack route. The software you got is legit, the unit should be detected by the software once you connect the unit to USB port.
