I need a very basic and cheap midi knob controller to "record" automatition in logic and ableton. Any ideas? Something really basic, like the ones in the photos

It would be great if it has got some fader controller for volumes, too! If not doesn't mind.

199 € ?!?! All that it's missing is a brown leather jacket and a pair of water skis.

It can control any knob or fader in any daw, any synth. You just hover the mouse and turn the knob. Don't need to midi assign anymore or to have a big controller. A brown leather jacket would be cool, though.

I suppose the mouse hover thing is pretty handy. It might be cool to have a trackball or some kind of pointer integrated into it to make it one self-contained unit though.

Google "Griffin Powermate" ... and get it from Amazon for under $40!

This is the BEST solution, IMO... it's EXACTLY the same thing as the Nob Control listed above, but at a fraction of the price. Mouse hover over and parameter, turn the wheel and it just works... knobs, faders, sliders, etc... I LOVE mine and it's also of excellent build quality, feels very substantial..

i have an eye on both of this devices, but how doe they work? downsides? are you on mac or pc?
if i point over a control, then turn the nob/griffin and release it, wheres the mouse pointer afterwards,i mean, can i release the device and turn it again? does it emulate a scroll wheel or the pointer, or both ?

I have a nanokontrol 1 I got for $29 years ago. It has it's flaws, but I still use it, along with others, daily in Pro Tools and Reaper.

    Behringer x-touch mini
endless rotary push encoders, 2 layers, cheap
it has mackie control mode, meaning you have high resolution control possibilities,
and compatibility with both logic and Ableton

then for Ableton there is remotify to make your own scripts:
    Killer!

I'd like to have 1 knob and 1 fader if possibile...to save up some money!
My idea is something around 50 euros

I don't own the nob, seen it at someone else. From what I read Griffin tends to be buggy with win 7/10 because of drivers. Works in macOS. Griffin is a mouse wheel on steroids, nob can jump between sliders back & forth but you have to pre-define the actual positions on the screen first.

Ableton picks up my xbox controller. I like to use it all the time to track in modulation automation. More fun than my axiom61. Its like youre flying the synths, lol. With Zerbra2 its really neat 'cause you got all the XYs right in your face
you got 11 buttons 2 xy sticks a 4 way (8 with diagonals) D-pad and 2 variable triggers

For Ableton I also suggest Novation Launch Control. It´s really nice and good quality. In Midi Mode you can use it in Logic as well.

I´m using a Traktor X1 and F1 so I have a lot of Encoders and buttons, 4 Faders and it´s all good programable. Costs for each used about 80 Euro.
