Uploaded.to still available in Asia and I presume also in other continents! I imagine "the powers that be" don't really need the Sopa and Pipa laws to continue promoting internet censorship. The bill was dropped by the US Congress but not in the minds of the Hollywood controllers!!!!!!!!!!! Our only hope is to keep pressing the US Senate and Congress. That will limit the final take over and preserve internet freedom for as long as it is possible.

I believe this has less to do with SOPA/PIPA and more with the U.S. justice department acting on current legislation. I wouldn't be surprised if uploaded.to are the ones blocking U.S. users from their site after what happened with megaupload this week . . . is there any indication that it's not them doing the blocking?

I also think the filesonic site re-design is a pre-emptive effort to distance itself from it's current image and appear to be more like dropbox . . . whether that works I guess we'll see :dunno:

I'm pretty sure they (uploading.to) are doing the blocking themselves

Yeah! 95.211.143.200 works like a charm. No problems man. I guess, if the Justice department were involved on this you would hear it all over the news. Just like it happened to Megaupload!!! :snuffy: There is also a possibility that they might be changing servers or migrating to a new platform. This happens with DownArchive and Avaxhome all the time. But since many of us are having access to their site I doubt that this is the case! As far as Upload.to blocking its own site it wouldn't make any sense. These guys are here to make money, if they lose customers they'd be out of business.

Well, it's a business decision . . . if it's going to cost you too much money to operate in a certain country due to current political climate, legal battles, potential legislation etc. it may be better for the business to stop operating in that country despite the potential revenue . . . Grooveshark recently blocked any German users for exactly that reason. Not saying that's what's happened here but the idea does make sense . . .

Yes, you probably have a good point. But this uploading/downloading business is all based on integrity. You pay and you expect to get the service that it was promised to you. If you go to their site, there is no information about them ceasing to operate in US. If they pull a fast one, I don't think Uploded.to will last for too long against thousands of unsatisfied customers demanding their money back. In fact, it will give an opportunity to any government to shut this site down for fraud.

If anybody wants to solve this puzzle, you can contact Uploaded.to at:
