The only good Adams are the SX or new S series, dont bother with AX, I would add Presonus Sceptres S8 to your list, they sound as good as Genelecs M040 or 8040 and with the money you save you can get acoustic threatment, also in the meantime get sonarworks, Its wonderful.

First of all, thank you for using your first post to help me! :D

The Sceptres aren't that good of a deal in Europe (the pair cost 200€ more here), but I'm really liking their size. The square-ish form factor would make them easier to fit in my room. Nice one!

Focal is blowing off their CMS line since the release of the "Shape" series and now the CMS 65 is 425€ a piece. That's more than 200€ less than the Neumanns, so definetely tempting...

Stretch out the a budget a little bit and get yourself a pair of Amphion One 15 + Adcom GFA 545 amp from ebay. You won't regret.

    personal prefence here
liked the 8030. like the 8020 the 8040 "sound bad", dont know why, verything above 8050 is "good"
dont need 8300 series if you dont plan on setting up networked audio

i the focal cm series ...........i found them wanting, dont understand the "hype"
genelec m series not worth the price of admission.
like with the focals, yamaha hs80 and jbl lsr2300 and the newer 300 series
    Kill them!!!!
dont like the yamaha hs50. if you tend too !really! krank up the volume. i would (if room+ accoustics allows) go with the 8" woffers
in both jbl and yamaha. all the "metalworker" mates of mine love the hs80 ;)

    lastly
there could be some gems to be had
pmc and munro sonic updated their range so some shops sell their "old" stock cheaper
tb2AII could be had for 1500 same with the egg150
while i would recomend the pmc blindly, i´m a bit more cautious with the eggs
not to everyones taste. but never heard such a big stereo field in a speaker room. as if they are not there
but maybe a bit demure for some.

like always your ears should decide
    just my 2 cents

    .ps
    hedd hmmmm
never heard them but its heinz
but on the other hand, maybe he was also responsible for the godawfull ax series
But he is! also responsible for the mighty P series and s and sx
so they should be good. :)
one thing to note as metal is you thing the 5" could be troublesome for kicks and bass
found them always difficult to gauge on their smaler speakers (adam that is)
    def listen!
didnt like the kh o300. maybe kh neeeed proper placement and room?
    never heard the 120
    good luck!

    .pps
i cheked out the hedd monitors. sounds very promising our are right to check them out.
but i stumbled over the 7 series jbl. i would suggest you check the 705 out.
the designer was practicly jumping around how exited he was (normaly no nonsen guy)
its quite a jump in price i know. but even if half of the stuff they say they achived is true.
This is serious gear! Do a shootout with gear up to 3k i would suggest
and def the lower ones ;)
i think the video was sweatwater namm jbl or something.
    jup
