Hi guys: I'm totally scared

i´m in mavericks and i´m thinking install sierra. i need some advice?
i have a couple of questions:

1) run 32 lives (version 1) in sierra?( i love my nexus 1.4 and other outdated stuff)
2) runs open ssh method in sierra? all stuff?

My idea is a upgrade not a clean istallation

yes , you can run 32lives , nexus 1.4 and old 32bit stuffs in sierra
for openssh , it works but you have to boot in recovery-mode to disable SIP protection (search in google) motu MX4, TCelectronic lm series and M40 not working anymore
if i was you , i would not upgrade , to many gap beetween mav and sierra ...but you can try
when sierra installed , install xcode and command lines tool...some plugs need it

do you guys know if Sonnox and Plugin Alliance (from sister site) works on Sierra or even High Sierra?

COnnecting my external monitor seems to take more cpu when using ableton live

Hello? Did you even read the thread? It says Mavericks to Sierra. I said that my external monitor stopped working properly after updating.

 

You could also try a fresh install (even better with another HDD/SSD and use the migration assistant to haul over all your stuff.

This way you'll have a working system to fall back if something goes downhill.

Just went from El Capitan to Sierra on my z820 without a hiccup.

Some plugins do need reauthorization but other than that very easy to do.

 

Yes, now you can upgrade from Mavericks to High Sierra
Since last week (Jan 2018) with the new OS 10.13.3 and the new Logic pro X 10.4

I made the upgrade from El Capitan to Sierra.
I had some problems before with Sierra but now everything is working perfectly like a swiss watch

32Lives and the old stuff like Nexus and Sylenth works very well as the Sonnox or plugin Alliance Stuff...
For the openssssh stuff, you must first check how to install and boot in recovery-mode to disable SIP protection.
You can find all the infos here in audiosex.
Only one Plug don't work for me since High Sierra.... theUBK1 But it's a KushAudioUpgrade problem (waiting for a new version).

I recommend you to do the upgrade only if you have a recent machine

 

mmm this is interesting im going to el captain actually not sure about sierra acatually as i have a 2010 macbook

 

it does take more cpu indeed

 

Man you kill me, this is the most used plugin for me, i put it in all my percussion buses, I´m on El Capitan now and i think I stay for a while

 

Same for me, UBK1 is a fantastic tool for my Drum Buses

 

I'm on 10.12.6 (16G29) Sierra. openssh and everything else works fine for me. You should be safe upgrading if you decide to do so.

 

Don't do it bro... trust me, just update to el capitain 10.11.6 and u can still use cracked version of pro tools 10hd

 

I loved Mavericks... but somehow I am on El Cap and will stay there as long as I can... cant remember how I got there... but a lot of Xanax was involved... otherwise I'd still be on Mavericks
