I know that i'm tiring you, but i want to know that is really a great difference between my lexicon alpha and a scarlett solo?. I just record guitars so i don't care about phantom power

Hmm.... is this what you´re talking about HD? :

    Checking your levels
Scarlett’s unique “signal halos” let you know that you’ve got the right audio level for recording. Green is good, while red means that your audio is too loud and you need to lower the gain control.

    Found this:

"On the analogue side, the preamps deliver a 20Hz to 20kHz frequency response that's flat within half a dB, while the THD+Noise is shown as -96dB for signals 1dB below digital full scale. The line inputs manage 105dB at minimum gain with a 50Ω termination. The maximum line input level is just over +28dBu before clipping occurs, so there's plenty of headroom."

Its a review of the 6i6, but I guess it will be the same for the Solo!

sorry @phloopy .. not exactly.. low end interfaces.. usually have clipping problems when you use the instrument input..
such as Stankberg's (Steinberg) UR22, the pad function attenuates the signal.. so it does not run too hot into your DAW...

very desirable if you use guitars alot... the clipping sucks..and interferes often when you are trying to record..
I don't own one of the focusrites.. but I have considered getting one...

I wouldn't be too sure about this marketing mumbo jumbo... when they put a pad button
    on the upgraded one...

    You might be right

sorry @phloopy , meant to say above...

the signal halos will work whether the pad is engaged or not...but if they will not go to
green with a guitar/bass , then the pad should bring the signal to a usable level..
    i.e. green halo

for that you would need to do what @phloopy was doing for you, your homework!
look up the specs on both and compare.. but if they are in the same price range
then likely the specs are similar.. if you want an upgrade in the converters, then
you will also be looking at interfaces in a higher price range...

    for example...

    US $199
    https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/ID4

    or

    US $299
    https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/iD14

some folks here really like them, and are happy with the sound quality

Oh yeah the RME Babyface Pro is better than those other models. Much more expansive too (around 750$). The audient id22 is very good too, and it's closer to a reasonable price range (around 450$). The ID4 is okay too btw.
