I'm assuming the answer is no but is there any way to get the new version of kontakt without having to spend an hour and a half reloading and reorganizing all my libraries?

Unless I am misunderstanding your question, your libraries are not defined inside the application. You can replace your application with the new version and the contents of your libraries will remain intact. Your library data is controlled by what is in the Service Center.

 

if yes follow these steps:

- export these keys from your registry in regedit
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\NATIVE INSTRUMENTS
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\NATIVE INSTRUMENTS

- copy all the xml inside c:\program files\common files\native instruments\service center

once you've updated import the keys you exported e copy the xml files in that same folder (dont overwrite)

 

Yah, maybe I'm misunderstanding too (or maybe it's a Mac thing.. I'm on Windows), but I've never had to reload libraries for my OWNED Kontakt or my Kontakt Portable. So, I'm not sure what the OP means here. I keep my legit Kontakt updated all the time, and update Kontakt Portable after every couple new versions or so. I haven't had to change from one major version to another in a while though (ex. Kontakt 5 to Kontakt 6) so I can't remember how that process worked.. that may have required a re-scan. For any upgrades within the same version, never have to reload/organize libraries, however.

I have updated kontakt several times and the libraries remain intact
